I personally don't want to see it if he literally only has one fight left, if he had 3 or 4 then sure. But there's a strong possibility it just goes the same way as the first and that would be a waste of one final fight which could see him involved in a British classic. Agree with your last point though I don't know if degale will get past Dirrell and I wouldn't want to see froch Dirrell 2 as his last fight.

How much did he make for Groves II? I think I read in the neighborhood on 12 mil or so? He is taking a break and wants another big money fight. It didn't work out with Chavez Jr and he seems to be open to GGG in the Fall. The guy has had a long career and fought everyone for the most part. Lets see what happens before people are all 'disappointed'. He is taking a break.

At 37 a year is an awfully long break. Read between the lines the GGG fight aint gonna happen.

I am not saying it is I am saying Carl seems more open to fighting GGG than all the others that are mentioned. Yes he is 37 and his career is winding down.

I know Froch is hoping like hell DeGale gets by Dirrell.

If he doesn't, he's kinda screwed. I have a feeling he might just retire if that happens.

    DeGale lost
    Jr lost

The only guys out there would be Dirrell and Ward and he's already faced both.

    Maybe Badou Jack? Ugh.

No one wants to see him vs Abraham again

Degale does something for his legacy, Dirrell doesnt.

    Wrong again.

It's not a fight fans want but to say Dirrell does nothing for his legacy is just baloney.

Many people had Dirrell WINNING their 1st contest.

Oh come on, he's been in so many big fights back to back, he's semi retired at 37 made his money, he wants to hang his gloves up. If anyone deserves one last easy pay day it's him

The judges didn't but most viewers did.

If you're just talking about resume, then why not a Ward fight?

He clearly got beaten bad by Ward.

It would be the best path to improving his resume. By far.

Beating Ward >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 10000000000000 more >'s beating DeGale.

Nothing against Froch of course, trying to be as objective as I possibly can. I like Froch.

I think fighting Ward again gives his career the best closure possible.

    Why I say this?

    It's because

    1. Froch is a very very proud man. He knows Ward bested him and Froch knows that if he doesn't at least try to avenge this, it might actually eat at him for the rest of his life post boxing.

If he tries again and loses. Then whatever, he's 37, he's a future H.O.F. Don't think it will harm his resume all too much. He has everything to gain and nothing to lose in another fight with Ward. Nothing at all. Ward beat him before, good chances is he loses again.

    2. Money. There is no way a British bout between Froch/DeGale outsells a Froch vs Ward bout in England. Froch/Ward would easily do 80000 at Wembley. It would be one of the most hyped bouts in Britain since maybe Calzaghe/Kessler or Froch/Groves 2. Whatever. It would do great for him financially. Both men would make out with more than 10 million pounds, at least.

Who knows? I don't know the specifics. I think he got 17 million against Groves 2, I could be wrong but I remember it being somewhere around that #.

    3. Resume. I already talked about this but this is the best way for him to boost the quality of his already pretty stacked resume. Beating Ward would be HUGE!!!

    4. 1a vs 1b.

    Most relevant fight at SMW.

Froch and Ward 2 should happen. Makes so much sense for both men but they have such big egos.

"easily an ATG SMW" what does that mean ? the division has only been universally recognized for about 25 years ...

    All-time is all-time.

    He's no all-time great.
I dunno who's been saying he is, maybe SKY sports broadcasters.

Hatton and Conteh are closer to be ATGs than Froch, and that aint particularly close either.

Hatton was never as good as froch. He was almost a hype job that got sparked out when he stepped up his competition.
Atg smw means he is one of the very best smw's to compete there in 25 years you mention. Not a tough call, he is easily an atg smw
