Pacquiao is STILL the most capable of beating Floyd

yes he lost, yes his performance was disappointing but, two things:

    1. He wasn't physically where he needed to be. I for one don't think the shoulder injury was that much of a hinderance (he was throwing his right hook) but if it was somewhat of an issue, it's big. You need to be 100% to have a shot at Floyd. A significant tear of the rotator cuff is not a small issue.

    2. TACTICS. His tactics, starting from round 1, were questionable. It seemed they were going to try and box Floyd. Pacquiao isn't a limited fighter like Maidana is but trying to outbox Floyd is a very difficult proposition. Pac succeeded at not getting hit by any big shots and keeping Flody's connect % low BUT at the expense of a low output. He needed at least 800 punches to have a chance.

WITH THE RIGHT TACTICS AND 100% PHYSICALLY, he has the BEST SHOT OF ANYONE.

When Floyd got close, Pac's speed troubled him - Floyd never saw a few of Pac's punches coming and FELT them. It's about being physically fit and employing right tactics for Pac. For the other boxers out there, they have little chance EVEN when they are physically fit and use right tactics.

    His tactics did suck

But personally, I think Cotto and Khan have a better shot

Pacquiao is too small I think and his jab is lacking

I was actually shocked how bad Mayweather did against a guy who had a torn shoulder

Pac with 2 arms would KILL him every time that left landed Mayweather was out on his feet

I agree with you about the tactics thats mainly to do with roach but when you have pain like Pac had its very hard to do what you wanted to do

Give it up, man. I wanted Manny to win, too. But he let himself down with his lack of aggression and Floyd never really looked troubled apart from once or twice. Floyd won. They both made a heck of a payday. They've had their day.

Let's acknowledge them for what they are - two great fighters who are now past it. Bring on the new generation.

I disagree. He's shown in his fights with Marquez that he is unable to do anything differently the 2nd 3rd and 4th time, whereas Marquez adjusted and made it more clear cut each time. Floyd has shown an ability to adapt in rematches, not that he'd need to here, the fight was not close. A pacquiao rematch would be even more conclusive and leave an even sour taste.

Pacquaio's a southpaw so what would he do with his right, jab him to death? His punch output was low because he couldn't find a target and Mayweather punished him when he did. His left hand did nothing. The very few times he did land Mayweather either covered up, walked through them or shook his head and taunted him.

Pacquaio was figured out in round one and a rematch would be even more lopsided. Floyd was faster, stronger and the better man on the night.

    cotto has no shot...too slow.

khan, i'm not convinced. Khan will try and outbox the master and that may not be very profitable. Floyd is accurate and will get to Khan's glass chin, can he take a punch? Pac can, he took a few nice shots from May. Pac has a strong chin, the JMM punches were very clean and hard.

Cotto's boxing ability in comparison to Pac more than make up for his speed, and many a fighter has said his speed is deceptively fast. To my knowledge no fighter has ever claimed he was slow after having fought him. Pac will stop throwing again because he is out classed, I said that would be the case the first time and that's what happened.
