“[This is because] he rested it for a couple of months and it went away,” Arum said about Pacquiao’s injured right rotator cuff to ESPN’s Dan Rafael. “It’s a recurring kind of injury. It can kick up again, which it did in sparring. The doctor said this was the time for him to no longer have to live with that, to repair it and it will be as good as new,” Arum said.

Pacquiao had successful surgery this week on Thursday on his injured right rotator cuff at the Kerlan Jobe Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. The problem now presumably is a thing of the past unless it doesn’t heal properly, or if Pacquiao reinjures it during training.

Arum says that Pacquiao wasn’t having any problems with his shoulder until recently in the training camp for the Mayweather fight.

“They gave him [Pacquiao] a series of treatments that enabled the pain to go away and then when he went into the fight, he was feeling absolutely no pain and using his right arm,” Arum. “It was really sometime in the fourth that he reinjured it.”
I don’t know what Arum and trainer Freddie Roach were thinking about in believing that Pacquao’s shoulder would be okay for the Mayweather fight. As far as I know, you don’t recover from a shoulder injury where you have a bad tear in your rotator cuff by just resting it.

Bob isn't stupid. He has to tell the truth today with all those lawsuits. 100% healthy til round 4 basically. So, why was Pac trying to cheat then Bob? He wanted "pain killers" in the fight. Has that been happening since 2008?

So that fight in 2009 really was worthless then. Pacquiao fans, you can let it go, your boy never had a chance

A part of me just wishes they would shut up. They're building him a deeper whole with every statement. Fights over, it sold well. And was a good technical fight for the hardcore fan. Let it go.

Regardless of the outcome, I'm glad they got in the ring together. Seeing Pac land leather on Floyd and vice versa had me feeling like a kid in a candy shop.

Wish Pac would have accepted defeat a bit more graciously though:smoke

Rewatched the fight and I gave Pacquiao 3 rounds out of 12. He was severly outclassed, getting punched moved around and never really seemed to bother Mayweather except 1 time in the 4th.

Pacqcuiao looked like had no clue what to do and Mayweather dind't really clinch much except early but then again not as much as prior fights since Pacqcuiao couldn't put preasure on Floyd effectivly.

And if you acually belive the bull**** people say about the shoulder then you are severly re****ed. He threw alot of jabs and right hooks so how the **** could he have injured his rotator cuff. Do you even know how much it hurts to tore a rotatorcuff?

Come on people he got schooled and should just move on with his career. It was severly onesided and it's pathtic that people can't get it. Floyd is head and shoulders above everyone in this generation.

Live with it and long live the king!

Unnecessarily as well. He's had an amazing career. And has made a lot of people rich. They need to respect him enough to shut up. And he needs to respect boxing enough to accept the L

I apologize if this has been posted already. Here is Ariza's take

"When you're talking about muscles and ligaments and tendons that actually control those movements of a particular limb, in this case the shoulder, trust me when I tell you, you're not going to be picking up that arm from the side of your waist, let alone lifting it over your head, fighting, throwing combinations with it (with a major tear)," Ariza said. "You know the damage immediately when something is torn.

"If a pitcher feels something in his shoulder, what does he do? Goes right into the dugout. A tennis player, what does he or she do? They turn around and walk right into that locker room. They're not lifting that arm up. When something like that happens, the arm goes dead, almost immediately. There's a deadness. There's a feeling that something's wrong."

So even the 4th round injury is questionable. This could be one big snowballing mistake because someone wanted to cheat and couldn't handle the idea of losing to Mayweather.

Now Pac is getting sued by everybody for his words. Now you guys see why it's so easy for Pac to sue Floyd for something as dumb as saying he was on PEDs? USA attorneys are maggots but Pac is going to get a taste of his own medicine.

Seems incredibly convenient that he was having no problems witht his shoulder injury since 2008, and that this didn't come up until he lost. Oh, what a world, what a world.

Team Pacquiao should have lost all followers and adoration i think, this is just getting shameful.

In the end, he's accomplished too much in boxing to have this overshadow his career completely. But In his biggest moment, on the biggest stage, he failed In the ring as a boxer, and out of it with his character.
