Did Floyd use an amateur style to fight Pacquiao because he was scared from the beginning, or because he felt Pac's power?

JMM ktfo6 Pacquiao and he also gave Pac nice beatings in previous fights, yet Floyd can't even put a black eye on Pac?

Floyd is lucky he is fighting in this era, because in the 90's, 80's, or 70's his amateur style would not do him any favors against true talent.

And yet JMM couldn't even land leather on May.

Pac was scared to get knocked cold, that's why he didn't throw ****.

Just like how JMM was scared to get knocked out vs May, that's why he didn't throw ****.

He got put on his ass in r2 and was on survival mode.

He put more than black eye on Pac. He tore that fool's rotator cuff. Did Pac have surgery after JMM? Hello no. Floyd went medieval on him internally.

    #48 was schooled!

  6. MVC took words out of my mouth.

I knew Floyd would school Manny after he schooled Marquez.

Marquez apparently gives Pac cuts that don't heal for years as well.

Honestly, both guys looked pretty nervous in there at times. Well "tentative" is probably a better word to use.

Both guys fought cautiously for the most part. regardless of what they say, they knew how much of a legacy fight this was for them so they fought very cautiously, no one wanted to make the first mistake.

But Floyd clearly beat him. He's used to fighting in a more cautious manner than Pacman. It was strange to see Manny fight that way, but FLoyd's style usually nullifies his opposition for the most part.

  11. Why do people bring up amateur scoring? Amateur fights are 3 rounds 2 minute....

I'm still not sure what JMM's KO of PAC has to do with what unfolded or didn't unfold last saturday?…...

  13. Nothing and everything. Just the fact that Manny struggled within 4 fights to get a convincing win over him and Floyd one within 1 fight.

Floyd left no doubt PAC got knocked out

Floyd definitely beat him. It's the way he beat him that had everyone booing, and that left fans with bad taste in their mouth.

Usually fights of the century or millenium, or decade are pretty damn unimpressive for the reasons you mentioned... Caution, fear, etc...

Floyd's style, Lara's style, and Oscar's style in the last 2 rounds of the Trinidad fight nullify their opponents offense, mainly because they are not within reach, hence making the fight boring as faulk because one fighter can't chase and catch the one running and the runner is to far and too cautious to sit on his punches.

I am not a fan of amateur style boxing.
