Clean and sober for probably about five years now. Haven't even puffed on a cigarette during that time either. That probably explains why I can remember conversations we've had and you can't, Mr. Puff-a-Lot.

One of my worst vices these days is staying up late. It's 4:15am here now and my bed is calling me. I do miss not being able to smoke before I hit the hay though. :fire:good

    Bed time zzzzzzzzZZZZ

So let me get this straight the UK had better testing ? You know they didn't start random testing until 2012

I have already posted similar links about how much of a joke the testing was in the UK but Clinton Woods is now the authority on testing ? GTFO !

And who said Jones was the only one that was affected by wear and tear its part of boxing ,it comes with age and the amount of ring wars a boxer has endured ..Some fighters peak before others ..Roy was no anomaly the diffrence is he relied way to much on his athleticism ..Once that diminished his ability to get out the way of punches went down as well he was a naturally a smaller guy fighting bigger men ..I don't know who can operate the same in their late 30's like the did in their early 20's ..That's just Father Time no athlete is immune to that. The diffrence with Roy though is when he moved up and came back down he never gave his body time to adjust ,you ever cut weight ? You know how weak you feel so don't try to dismiss the fact that Jones ruined his body..

And as far as Gonzalez well he was the d side so he took what ever fight he could ..But in retrospect I put the blame on both Roy and DM for not making that happen ..There are numerous quotes from both sides saying they would travel yet neither budged ..

Alright I have discussed this to death ..I'm done with this ..I'm sure it will rear its ugly head again..:good

 I didn't post all of those posts so we could start debating it all over again, I did so rather to remind you we'd been through it all before. I only posted the whole posts because I couldn't be bothered to edit it all down to the relevant parts pertaining to this most recent discussion. We can go through it all again if you want? lol

My lungs said it was bad for me. It was either smoke and suffer from really bad breathing problems, or don't smoke and be able to breath properly. It's not a particularly difficult a decision to make when you've had to spend the night in hospital and you've suffered from great difficulty trying to take deep breaths for ages. lol

Why don't ya'll just let the over rated Welsh slapper live his life of sniffing, drinking, ho chasing & killing innocent little rabbits in peace He never was any real champion. If he could at least have thrown a legitimate punch it might have helped. Sayonara Slappy

I think I can safely say that D.M was a better fighter than the guys you listed above. He also could of returned to the smw if he wanted to.
You are trying to twist my words. I said that Sheika beating Johnson had no bearing on Sheika getting the Calzalghe fight. Calzaghe had already pulled out of 2 proposed fights with Sheika due to injury in 1999. So why did Sheika need to beat Johnson when Calzaghe wanted to fight him in 1999?
    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/boxing-calzaghe-shapes-up-for-sheika-1121104.html

He lost interest after Calzaghe pulled out of their planned 04 fight twice. It was later rearranged for 06 and Calzaghe pulled out again. Choosing to fight the likes of Bika and Manfredo instead:patsch

The fact that he lost should of meant nothing to Calzaghe. A fighter who fought quite a few fighters coming off recent losses
Highly unlikey. Especially with him coming off a loss to Veit for the wbo interim belt. Viet was the no 1 challenger, not Salem.

    Really?
Ottke won that fight fair and square.
    Really?
He was outboxed by a 40 year Malinga
    Fernando Zuniga?:huh
Glen was more deserving of a shot than the guys I mentioned above.
    Pavlik was the better opponent
Calzaghe was going to move up to lhw for both of the Johnson fight. He of course would later on move to lhw where Johnson was campaigning

Dawson was prepared to move down to 168 to make the Cazaghe fight and he would later on try and make it after Calzaghe beat Jones

Pavlik was prepared to move up to make the fight.

Just imagine how his resume would of looked if he had fought some of those guys instead of all of those Pudwills and Ashiras

Who did Kessler beat that was better than Woods?
The fight had already been rescheduled twice at that stage. How many times can Johnson be expected to restart training ?
The fight was arranged for 06 and then Calzaghe pulled out again claiming to have a injured hand.

Calzaghe would go on to claim that he would then fight Johnson if he got past Woods, but the fact is a loss to Woods should not have stopped the fight from happening seeing as how Cazlaghe had already fought quite a few opponents who were coming of recent losses like Salem and Mitchell.

You know the fight would of been at lhw, where Glen was ranked within the ring top ten?

I've missed these Zod vs Bailey debates.

I wish Knockout Artist was still around too.

With regards to Joe vs Pavlik, I've always thought that Joe would have beaten him with absolute ease. But it was very strange that Joe started criticising him in the media, and telling people he hadn't done enough to warrant a fight, before then admitting that they'd approached him after the Lacy fight. How did that make sense? He hadn't done enough in 2008, yet they offered him a fight in 2006? Why on earth would Joe have wanted to fight an unknown MW, who was an NABF champ, after he was coming off of a great win, where he'd finally got the respect and recognition from the U.S. fans and media?

He didn't win the fight fair and square, something stupid like 70% of the media who watched scored the fight in favor of Mitchell.

The idea that Ottke didn't get hometown decisions is laughable and tells me you probably weren't even watching boxing in the 90s and 2000s.
