I truly believe this. Maybe it is from the tire irons to the back of the head by Ann Wolfe during his previous training sessions. <sarc> But when a guy gets knocked down and then stopped by Ishida in the first! round something is definitely wrong. Remember the Julio Diaz fight against Juan Valenzuela? Look for the same kind of thing to happen tonight against Canelo. Damaged goods and Canelo's camp knows it. Just like what Kirkland did to Tapia. Canelo will knock Kirkland out.
Damaged good on a 5 fight KO spree which 3 of them being Angulo, Molina and Tapia. I wish we had more damaged goods like that in every division.
I think I had this discussion with you a couple weeks ago. I said at the time Kirkland and Tapia were both damaged goods and you said Tapia was on 3 fight win streak and my comment then, as it is now, is it doesn't matter, Tapia is damaged goods. So is Kirkland. Tapia has already gone down and so will Kirkland later tonight. It may not have been you but someone else came to Tapia and Kirkland's defense before. These guys are both done. Stick in the fork.
Can't see Kirkland being competitive, he is grossly overrated by people. Canelo will have a field day.
Was he ever non damaged goods. Not everyone can be a Floyd Mayweather. Sometimes boxers are able to reach a certain level and thats it
It wasnt me. Well his resume speaks for itself. Also check this out: "Over his past four bouts James Kirkland has thrown an average of 60 power shots per rd. Nearly 2x the 154-lb average." http://www.insidehboboxing.com/inside/2015/5/8/compubox-****ysis-canelo-alvarez-vs-james-kirkland With my standards; after such a horrific loss, he had a come back almost as good as a come back gets. But you are entitled to your opinion of course.
I like Kirkland - despite his limitations - but you can't seriously try to include Molina as part of a KO spree. Have you actually watched Kirkland vs Molina? To be fair Molina was hurt in the 10th, but hung on, and he'd been making Kirkland look foolish all night. The DQ was a flat out disgrace. Even Wolfe told Molina he was winning or shoulda won.
A puncher like Kirkland always has slugger's chance but I don't believe Canelo's camp would take this fight UNLESS they believed he was damaged goods. Too much risk otherwise. Canelo is just too big of a moneymaker to put as risk. They don't believe Kirkland has even a remote shot. They believe he is shot or they wouldn't risk it.
I think Canelo calls the shots on who he fights, I honestly believe he wants the best. Kirkland isn't the best though but he will likely destroy him and land a bigger and riskier opponent.
Canelo fought Trout and Lara before the age of 23. I would never call him someone who plays safe. Kid fights whoever available.
Agreed. I am not questioning Canelo's heart. But Canelo doesn't always call the shots. I'm just saying his team believes Kirkland is done.
