Wow talk about a uneducated bias blind homerism of a post. Your opinions of Vernon Forrest Felix Trinidad and Maurice blocker are borederline delisional , none of these men were even close to great fighters. They would be throughly outclassed boy Floyd. I'll post more later.

Vernon Forrest and Maurice blocker beating Floyd Mayweather...just wow...

And Trinidad the man who gets dominated by every good boxer he faces is going to beat the best pure boxer of the last 25 years whose never been floored.

There's a reason he's never been floored, and that's because he chooses his opposition very carefully, and how often has Floyd actually fought good/great fighters who were bigger than him, had a longer reach, and a fair amount of power?

I would really look forward to a list of these fighters.

Forget about his record, focus on who he fought.

This pretty much sums up my view of things as well. No one is saying Floyd's a bad fighter, but the hype around the guy, is way over the top. I can't really think of many fighters who he beat who were actually bigger than him, had a longer reach and were good/great boxers.

Vernon forrest has to be one of the most overrated head-to-head fight is on this form it's actually laughable. I followed that guys career too. Not Even close to a great Fighter like Mayweather

Hype? The guy is undefeated , has been number 1 p4p for the last decade, has defeated several future hall of farmers, he has never been knocked down, has the greatest defense ever according to compubox statistics....

Yet people are picking 2nd tier champions from previous eras who lost several times to beat him.

Maurice Blocker was defeated by Lloyd honeyghan and Simon brown. lets pick him over Floyd Mayweather

The fact that Ray Charles Leonard was named Sugar Ray, might give you a clue.

Robinson by either wide UD or probably a late stoppage. Just remember a weight drained Hearns was outboxing the so called master boxer up until he just lacked the strength and stamina to throw shots in the later stages of the fight.

And Tommy for all his greatness was no Ray Robinson.

I agree with most of what you are saying, but you are either deliberately forgetting or you simply don't seem to understand that Mayweather himself started out at 130, and he has fought and beaten some " naturally " bigger men at 147.

Hmm how do I have it? Assuming I can only rank retired fighters who I've seen, in one classic division at a time.

    Robinson
    Leonard
    Hearns
    Napoles
    Gavilan
    Ross
    Griffiths
    Mosley
    Tito
    Hoya

Mosley is one of the best ten welters you've ever seen?

Welter probably IQ > ko power for me.

Not sure I was just doing it from top of my head, missed Walker off. Mosley was probably better as a LW but H2H when he had that blistering speed, only certain styles beat him. I'd pick him to stop Tito though.

I have to say I find it amusing when people say that a fighters h2h capability should never be considered as important as his resume when it suits their agenda, but elevate Leonard to number 2 at 147 due to their belief he would beat any other Welter bar Robinson. Particularly when his record in the division doesn't hold a candle to other Welters. 3 wins against Benitez, Tommy, and an avenged defeat to a Lightweight just doesn't do it for me resume wise.
