    Discuss.

We saw what Floyd did to Canelo, damn near shut him out.

Canelo now has wins over Lara, Kirkland, Angulo and possibly Cotto this fall.

No, stop with those threads please. Floyd is not a boxer, he's an avoider. Same like Ottke, no one could beat him because he didn't come to box. Ward, Floyd, Ottke .. they are the same kind of fighters. Boring and bad for the sport. No one cares about Floyd, people pay PPV to see him losing .. that says everything about him.

That's the advantage of beating young fighters who potentially become great, if Alvarez goes on to have a HOF career from this point onwards, you'll always look back and see that Floyd beat him.

It's like Jones Jr and Hopkins. A lot of Jones Jr's career is based on how good Hopkins became after Jones Jr beat him.

Yes, Floyd's stock does raise slightly from this. I think the Alvarez win was a really good win. However, Alvarez is a better fighter now than he was then and the Kirkland fight is at a weight that's better for him.

Well not really. 22 is green for most fighters.

And squeaking by Lara and trout isn't that great.

Canelo is an excellent fighter. However, this was a showcase fight for him. Kirkland was tailor made for him. Canelo was a 9/1 favorite for a good reason.
