No, he just seems better because he's not facing guys like Floyd

You see him against Floyd again and he gets washed.

He damn near shut Canelo out, it was not close in the least. :admin

I still have yet to be fully convinced Canelo isn't overrated. He's had great, showstopping wins over Kirkland and Angulo, but against the "A levels" (Trout and Lara) he barely squeaks by on dubious decisions.

What did Floyd do to Canelo? Looked like he payed him to spar for 12. That was a god awful fight, even by Floyd standards. Most light sparring sessions in gyms are more entertaining than that :patsch

Floyd made guys like Canelo/Pac/Marquez look like mere sparring partners.

Like Lewis with Vitali (wasn't young but that win looks 100x better in hindsight). We'll see how Canelo goes though. I see him beating Cotto and losing to GGG

Outside of a handful of fighters, most A level fighters are going to have close fights with other A level fighters. You can't expect Alvarez to just blow through guys like Trout and Lara. The fact that he held his own and got decisions against those two shows that he's a really good fighter.

    42-0 = green?

Did Lewis beat a green Vitali too?:lol::patsch

    2. Canelo asked for the catchweight.

    3. Canelo claimed he was fine and great for the bout. :patsch

Agree. The top guys usually have close fights.

But Lara and trout aren't exactly Hagler hearns meeting in the ring....

They're good but too a limit.

The fact that Mayweather Canelo so easily and made him look like a sparring partner says a lot. Put Canelo in there with an A level fighter that outweighs him by 15 lbs. on fight night and see what happens.

The vast majority of 22 year old fighters are green.
