Of course it will get broken! The big reason this fight did big numbers aside from the obvious, is the social media explosion. Back in the day, you didn't have that for Tyson nor oscar nearly to the level it is today. It hypes fights up, lets people really get to know the fighters and their stories, etc. All the talk on twitter, and other outlets. Its not surprising this fight broke records, especially with it being talked about for so long on the internet. Take that away, this fight would have done maybe 1 million buys.

It's hard to imagine another matchup at least within the next few years that would be able to top 5.6 million ppv buys at $100. I don't even think a rematch between themselves would do 1.5 million unless there is some real clever hype/angle to promote it. I don't think anyone wants to see another 12 round snoozer. Are there any potential big match ups that could come close to beating the ppv record?

The fight was a fluke, a perfect storm if you will. It will be almost impossible to top.

Yes but will porbably take a long long time before it happens. But I doubt there will be a fight like this in the next 10-20 years or so.

I think a Pacquiao may weather rematch could do north of 2mil.

But yeah, this 5.6mil # if true won't be topped for decades.

I don't think the fight would have been nearly as popular 5 years ago. Years and years of hype has built it up. I think that might (unfortunately) entice promoters to delay big fights in the future.

Easily. If a top tier American HW came up and beat Wladimir Klitchsko, the rematch would do some serious numbers.

Really? Picture for a moment what ever means...it means forever. For-Ev-Er. Unless the human population is going to die off within a 100 years and we don't know, I'd say this PPV will be topped off again someday.
