Yes it most likely will. Boxing already proved that it always moves on to bigger things.

If the fight was action packed I would say yes but this turned off the casual fan for Years! So no not for at least 25yrs.

You need two forces to be on a collision course.

David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko could have done something similar theoretically but Wlad's boring style and Haye's 'injuries' have prevented them both from making seriously seriously big money.

Was Lewis vs Tyson entertaining?, how long did it take to break that record?. Was DLH vs Mayweather entertaining?, how long did it take to break that record?.

Both were more entertaining than this bout.
This bout surpassed them both by a wide margin. So no I don't think this one will be broken anytime soon.

Lewis vs Tyson was completely one-sided, it wasn't even competitive for a single round. Tyson was a sitting target to jabs and endless clinches all night. I'm not sure if you were around back then, but DLH vs Mayweather got endless heat for not being exciting.

Did it take 25 years for those records to be broken?, the answer is obviously no.

If haye and Harrison stay retired I'd say not for a long time,if these 2 get the rematch on then for sure

I've been around long time. I remember both fights well. Lewis fight still ended in a KO which satisfies a lot of people. The De La Hoya fight was a SD and whether you agree with that or not it had more drama than this snooze fest.
Floyd has spent years building himself up as the villain. Now that he has defeated his contemporary rival there is no one left for him to fight that will draw huge numbers. So it's on to the next guy. Who will that be? You need two guys, one good, one bad, both with a personality the public can root for and one has to be American. They both have to be deemed very good and not a fraud. It takes a lot to get all the pieces in play for a massive ppv. If Ward had a better personality and was more active. I could see him vs Kovalev, with Kovalev playing the bad guy being big in two yrs. but nothing is going to touch this fight for a long time.

Floyd v Hoya git loads of stick for being an anti climax.

More so than this fight from what I remember.

That is something that should be done to re-spark interest. Lomachenko got good exposure on may/pac undercard. And Walters fights next month.
A three fight card of Lomochenko vs Walters
Cotto vs Canelo and another bout would be big.
Or k2 working with Haymon and having Wlad vs Wilder with Triple G vs Quillan and Stevenson vs Beterbiev. A would be good card.

People keep saying boxing is dying, yet it never dies. I remember people thought that the "boring" DLH-PBF fight would kill future ppvs...yet it didn't...in fact it birthed a PPV star in Floyd and later Manny.

    Boxing is fine.
