Not being American while competing in obscure weight classes is what got him ignored

no but it contradicted that floyd would be the longest unblished streak at 50-0
    which is what someone said

people are hung up on an "0"

chavez sr record was 107 (KO 86) + lost 6

    thats more impressive than 50-0

Actually Chavez was 87-0 before his tie to Whitaker. He was 89-0-1 before his loss to Frankie Randall.

He holds records for most successful defenses of world titles (27), most title fight victories (31), most title fights (37), and he is after Joe Louis (with 23) for most title defenses won by knockout (21).

Chavez is 31-4-2 (21 KOs) in world title fights.

Mayweather is 25-0 (10 KOs) in world title fights.

49-0 is a US boxing record that I am rooting for Mayweather to break. It's however it's not pinnacle record in boxing which is 87-0

A: His weightclass, B: He never cleaned out the weightclass, C: He was never lineal at any of the weights he was at

Unlike Floyd and Calzaghe, he never cleaned out straw-weight to take the lineal championship at his "best class"

It is weird that he's not mentioned, but that's pretty much the reason why.

Also, the other reality is that he never fought at Flyweight, which is an origin weight class for boxing. The weight class he fought at didn't exist until 1986.

It's kind of like SMW - you don't see people giving much credit to fighters there, and guys like BHop who love legacy didn't even really bother stopping off there on his way to collect LHW gold.

Because he's overrated and fought in a weak Era for straw weights.

Straw eight will always lack depth. Few grown men weigh 105....

    Thats really small.
