Most likely will be canelo, still young enough, has a country behind him, and is building a solid resume in the process.

Canelo fits bill age wise and the fact he only lost to Mayweather mite actually help his claim in a weird way.
If not then Ward if he can get his stuff together as his style can keep him around a long time if he stays hungry/focused but that seems a big IF...
Possibly outside chance of Brook depending on his exposure next two years.

Are talking about taking over from a PPV sense? Or in terms of being the best fighter?

People keep mentioning Ward, and if he is the same fighter as he was before the layoff then it will either be him or Rigo who becomes the best fighter after Floyd is gone. But to go along with a style that is not exactly crowd friendly, Ward also seems to have zero business sense and lacks the charisma/brashness of a Floyd Mayweather. The guy insists on fighting in Oakland for Christ's sake. I very much doubt Ward will ever be a mainstay PPV attraction. Rigo, to me, is much more exciting to watch but a narrative already exists that he is boring and once the label of 'boring fighter' is attached it becomes very hard to shake.

From a PPV sense, the man with the easiest route to Floyd's PPV crown is Canelo. He is young and has a massive built in fan base. GGG, with his style and charisma, would have a very good shot if he was 25 years old instead of 33.

The other name that comes to mind is Wilder. If Wilder were to land that miracle KO shot on Wlad (something I find very unlikely, but let's entertain it) he would immediately be vaulted to the top of the PPV charts. An American, knockout artist HW champ who just ended Wlad's 10 year reign with a single shot? Sounds like an easy sell.

Hopkins won his first title when he was 30, I don't see why GGG can't fight at the highest level until at least 40, I mean, he's taken almost no punishment in his career (to date) with his offensive style

    Apples to Oranges comparison.

1.) Hopkins is a freak of nature the likes of which we may never see again.

2.) GGG has a lot more miles on his odometer than Hopkins did at the same age. B Hop had almost no amateur background and turned pro at 23. GGG has been fighting since he was 8 and had over 300 amateur bouts + the gym time that comes with that type of experience level.
