H2H I think some beat Mayweather at 147 more often than not but yeah P4P Floyd is up there. I think Floyd is one of the best ever but I hesitate to call him the best. SRR still impresses me more; even though his defence is much worse, his offence is outstanding — outstanding.

As of now he is the best of "HIS ERA".
From 2000 to 2015 who is better?
Who has put on better shows and has everyones attention.
Who has fought the top guys and beat them all.
It is his ERA, not SRR, Ali, Leonard,Tyson, Marciano,or anyone else's.
We have to start separating this **** man.

 

Fair enough. I know I've been a ***** about this whole thing but it's because of the fans and Pacquiao's disgraceful behaviour post-fight. I like Pacquiao. Mayweather was the better man in all ways during this episode, but also we can't forget just how many disturbing things and habits that Mayweather has. In many ways, he is no role model. However, his dedication to his craft is possibly unmatched, and that is inspiring.

 

Sure, I said "this" era, which loosely meant the last 10-20 years. We can call it "his" era if we want to, or the best since the turn of the Millennium. I agree that Floyd is the best of that time.

I agree with you down to a tee and felt the exact same way with the fight

 

Floyd really thought that Pac would have more of a punch, but he was shocked by how little Pacquiao was able to hurt him. It was a good act in the 4th round in order to try and set traps on the ropes. Manny clocked on to it though and backed off when he suddenly realised that Mayweather wasn't truly hurt.

Am I half being facetious? Maaaaybe, but perhaps there's some truth to that.

Most definitely. I don't believe that any fighter is completely unbeatable and there are mostly certainly fighters that would have given Floyd hell. The problem with sports is that it's hard to compare athletes across eras for several obvious reasons but SRR brilliance is there for all to see, even with the limited footage available of him. I think it's a safe bet to assume that Floyd's stock will only rise as time goes. I know when I'm a 60 year old, disgruntled man, I'll probably be telling the youngsters how Floyd would whup everyone round these days.

Who does Floyd fight next though: take a fight with Cotto at 160? Rematch Alvarez? Give someone like Thurman a shot (undefeated fighter with vicious body shots and general power)?
