SRR only impresses me more than Floyd @ WW but at MW SRR only impresses me more than Floyd about 60% of the time(compared to Money at WW or SWW).

Floyd is the best of this era, but he is not TBE...

Yeah, I see what you're saying. Shame we don't have more complete chronicles of SRR's career at his best weight (WW).

hes far from the best. he lost to castillo and the judges gave him the maidäna victory. he wäits until fighters are past it to fight thëm. hes great ät cherry picking. would have been great to see him versus a prime fighter and not wait until their best days have past them

He is probably the best welterweight of his era. Pacquiao and Oscar have an argument for being better at some point. Both guys did pretty well against him considering their respective career stages. I can't see how Pacquiao would lose to Floyd back when he threw 100 punches per round instead of 35. There's no way he doesn't pick up 2 or 3 more rounds.

Ward/Rigo/Lomachenko/GGG/Inoue/Gonzalez/Crawford/Thurman may be better than Floyd, but they're coming into their era as his era ends.

He is definitely not the greatest of his era. That's between Pacquiao, Oscar, Hopkins, and Wlad.

And with ambitious young guys like Alvarez, Gonzalez, Lomachenko, and Inoue on the way up, Floyd's accomplishments will pale in comparison to those of his successors. Those guys are going for it right out the gate.

Heck, Gonzalez will break his undefeated streak in like 2 years.

-Yup. Though, I did have a slight hope that the two fighters would feel a responsibility to excite people with the world of boxing again instead of make them feel disgusted of it. Though, I know Mayweather's motto is working smarter, not harder.

    - Agreed! Huge improvement from his past 2 fights. Manny looked extremely heavy and slow. If Mayweather was being honest about coming in at 149 fight night, then I could really see the difference.

    - Yup, agreed. Lacked all aggressiveness, too hesitant. Didn't even look like Manny Pacquiao.

    - I think Mayweather being the bigger man and physically stronger than him allowed him to clinch Pacquiao more easy than, let's say, a smaller opponent like Marquez.

I disagree. If we scored on "special moments" then yes, Pac won 2 rounds. If we scored it on the actual criteria, then I have it 115-113, or 116-112.

    - I do. It's a serious injury, and he's out for 4-6 months now. I hate to see that on any of my favorite athletes.

    - Immediately post fight, he was embarrassed and upset with himself, the entire situation. I cut him some slack. Presser he was able to collect his emotions and I had no problem with it.

    - Uhm, another 150+ million dollars in Mayweather's pocket? As he says, "180 million in 36 minutes? I couldn't say no!"

    - The Mayweather of old who was trash-talky and arrogant came back after the fight, so me too! I've missed him!

"Manny Pacquiao you aren't on my level. Manny Pacquiao you will never be on my level. Plain and simple. Just admit and say Mayweather you the better fighter. It's okay to be number two. It's okay to be right behind me. It's okay.":D:lol:

Too much is made of this cherry picking nonsense. Nobody gets on SRL for taking a rematch with Duran at the most opportune moment, or waiting until he felt Hagler was seriously declining before calling him out. Floyd took on Castillo for his first fight in a new weight-class (135) and yes, it's possible that he lost the fight. He took on an undefeated Hatton and fought Cotto and De La Hoya in their weight-classes. Maidana was a good challenge and no Algieri. He's taken on excellent fights now for the last many years. I only regret the period from around about 2003-2006, where he could have fought better guys and was only really taking on B-C grade fighters. I don't know if Floyd was duckin' or if others were ducking Floyd — perhaps it was a bit of both. The two fights with Castillo probably gave Floyd a reality check and it possibly encouraged him to take it a little easier for a while. Floyd's resume is underrated and if he was an equivalent of "The Golden Boy" then, generally, people would share glowing praise for Mayweather's overall resume.

well he didn't really fight much so lol. he was in pain and he fought through it. can u imagine the disappointment if he quit on his stool from the pain like Vitali? The world would be more upset with him now. He had no choice but to suffer through with it. he was in a real pickle. he still gave it his all, and I'm not condemning him for that.

Symptoms from a torn cuff are pain and weakness, and the weakness is brought on usually from the pain. So, you get a numbing shot, you feel no pain. Of course, you'll end up damaging it more but he was going to do that with or without the shot lol

Exactly, if injury is true, he made a VERY stupid decision and should get no sympathy for it.

he really is an amazing fighter ,we are lucky to have been watching him in our era imo.....watching Canelo the other night just brought home how good Mayweather really is....he has bested every size ,shape, style, age going and is almost 40!!!

he could probably go on another 10 years without getting so much as a bruise
