Not fight the guy considered P4P the best fighter in the world... Fairly simple logic!
You can't say what about the fans and that he wouldn't want to let them down by pulling out... because now he has done that anyway so he mite aswell of done it and possibly had a chance to be competitive instead he chose to lie and pick up a pay check regardless of anything or anybody else...

He was between a rock and a hard place. When the injury happened tons of money had already been poured into this thing. The plane/hotel tickets already bought would have gone down the drain. The fight might have to be delayed for more than a year. It was hard enough to get Mayweather to fight in the first place, who knows if he'd still be up for it in 2016.

Hurt in a boxing match???What happened, Did someone punch him or something? I heard something like that happened in another fight one time. A guy punched a guy, and it hurt. That was a great strategy by Pac to punch him, and try to make it hurt.

    Well thats just tough!
Without being to un-sympathetic here, but he made his decision to go forward and that is final he lost.
He should of done many things differently from ticking the box!! to being up front about things and he would of maybe came out of this better but he chose to put HIMSELF in the situation he is in no matter how you word it.
He AND his team are to blame for this nobody else, they have handled this whole thing terribly, yet somehow walked away with millions... of course fans are going to change their opinions and judge them badly!!

The point of pro boxing is to hurt the other man.

That's professional boxing at it's core.

You're about to fight in the most lucrative boxing match in the history of the sport. You will make on the upwards of 100 million dollars and the entire world is proclaiming for you to win. Three weeks before the fight, you injure your shoulder. You go to a renowned doctor and he diagnosis you with a torn rotator cuff. He tells you it will need surgery and you will need to be out for around 9-12 months. But, here you are, less than three weeks before the fight.

    You look at the options.

    OPTION A:

You make the public announcement that you need surgery and have to postpone the fight. When the fight is post-poned you sit outside the boxing ring for 12+ months to come back and try to defeat Floyd Mayweather. You hope you'll be the same even when there's no guarantee that Mayweather will fight since he planned to retire in Sept. World-wide anger over postponement.

    OPTION B:

You rest the shoulder for the days up to the fight, send sparring partners home, focus on left hand, and clear with USADA to take a numbing shot before the fight so you won't be able to feel pain. World-wide anger over injury.

    OPTION C:

You make public announcement of your injury but that you'll still fight. You do all same things as option B except now there's a huge risk of loss of PPV buys, revenue, and Floyd Mayweather's team knows of your injury which can prove to add another disadvantage. World-wide anger over injury.

    MISCELLANEOUS OPTION:

Another option besides the three above.

No it's not it's to outpoint your opponent to win rounds. How many times did Pea Whitaker hurt Chavez? He still gave him a boxing lesson didn't he?:deal
