You have no clue. And what does Wlad do when he throws a punch? Clinches for dear life! That's an MMA'er/Jiu Jitsu/Grapplers bread and butter (and there's way more chance of clinching with someone than landing the ko punch first) and then it's game over. Wlad's chin under MMA rules would be pathetic if he's been bombed out more than any other HW in the last 10/20 years.
Wladimir would be the new freaking Chuvalo in MMA, those guys have got no technique, but it wouldn't even matter how good his chin is, these windmillers would never even manage to hit him flush. You can see their punches coming from a hundred miles away. Yes, Wlad clinches in BOXING matches but this is a street fight, he'd look to end it quickly and that he would do. I'm telling you, a fight between Wlad and any MMA fighter would end in a fatality and it wouldn't be Wlad's. And even if an MMA fighter managed to get up close (which they wouldn't, they got zero footwork, they're all plodders) Wlad would just push them away like flies with his superhuman strength.
This is what happened to a man who's been CONDITIONED to take punches (from boxers, not no technique having MMA fighters) since an early age after Wlad's left hook barely grazed his chin (with gloves on). [yt]VoBcr-NMT7I[/yt] (skip to about 1:25) Now imagine without gloves, against fighters who aren't used to taking punches, and instead of a left hook it was a massive right hand.
if rousey is baddest man that says a lot about the state of society being sold on imagery these days. not a slight on the excellent rousey.
I don't dispute that most kickboxers and MMA fighters would go down or be out after shipping a shot like that. The boxer has the advantage throwing punches, but the MMA fighter has the advantage in MMA and a boxer vs a kickboxer in a kickboxing match is at disadvantage because they're having to deal with an opponent who can kick. The kind of power a powerful kickboxer can generate with their kicks is no joke. A powerful kick to the knees of a boxer who had no kickboxing training would likely drop them in agony, let alone one to the head or liver.
Prob with kickin in the street is if you dont connect you are off balance and can be dealt with same goes for grappling and a lot of fights are in street clothes and confined enough a kick may not be possible now a knee could be but again make sure u connect Baddest man is the one better armed than you And most even journeymen boxer/ mma guy beats 99% of men even men considerably bigger than them
"Six months of training isnt going to be enough," Haye said. "As a UFC fan, I know two or three years wouldnt be enough. How many times has Toney sprawled in his life? 500? How many leg kicks has he taken in his life? 300? How many Kimura attempts has he defended? 140? Even if hes done double that amount, he wouldnt have nearly the experience needed to win a UFC fight." ... "I know from training in MMA myself that the wrestling aspect ruins your punching power," Haye said. "After a minute of grappling, your arms, back and shoulders fill with blood and even if you then find space to throw punches, your power is suddenly ****. "And I hit a lot harder and Im so much faster than James, and I couldnt land a punch on fighters when all they wanted to do was take me down to the ground. James is a much more static fighter than I am, and is going to get thrown on his back immediately by Randy. I admire Toneys spirit and boxing skills. But hes delusional here." ---David Haye
But Wladimir's right hand! Like you said, the force that a Kickboxer or a Thai fighter can generate is NO JOKE! One of those - which would be a hell of a lot easier to land than a lunch due to distance - would damage a Boxer before he's got a punch off. I adore the sweet science, but using and relying on only your hands in an anything goes fight is immensely stupid, especially against someone that has multiple options.
Wladimir's footwork is far too good to be leg kicked, he moves like a butterfly compared to the boots-in-cement plodder MMA fighters. There's only one strategy I see working for an MMA fighter that was pioneered by Antonio Inoki in his fight vs Muhammad Ali [YT]xO5bJ6J5bIY[/YT] Here's the footage of said fight, an MMA fighter wouldn't be able to win but at least he'd able to keep a stalemate.
I've done boxing, kickboxing and Muay Tai and punches are much easier to land than kicks. Plus from a solid stance, with good footwork, kicks are easier to evade than punches as they are less disguised, slower and more telegraphed. Kicks aren't a boxers kryptonite, take downs are. But even then there are no guarantees, as we've seen in MMA and from what I've seen myself in gyms, boxers who only know how to box still have their fair share of success in MMA fights.
