Wlad was knocked out 3 times, also has extensive amateur backround, and is almost 40, and completely dominating the HW scene

of course, both Wlad and GGG are light years ahead of the rest in their weight class, but all the same, GGG has a few good years ahead of him, to say the least

Crawford, Canelo, & Wilder have the best chance to me. Canelo & Crawford can beat most around there divisions and Wilder really only has Wlad to get through.

It's going to be canelo. His fight style is pleasing to watch, he says the right things all the time, he's charming, women love him as was evident Saturday, he already has two of the largest boxing Markets cheering him, and who doesn't appreciate a fighter who fights for the fans and fights the best.

You make some good points, but the problem is, Canelo isn't especially good.

I mean, he's GOOD. But he's not special, and will probably win some lose some along the way, which will probably not translate into him becoming boxing's next cash cow.

I think Oscar was more of an exception than the rule, and he had a huge advantage over Canelo in that he spoke perfect English.

True, but they're both dreamy and that's what really matters.

    Alvarez is the best candidate.

Thurman and Crawford will become very important.

Ward, GGG, and Kovalev will be right up there as well.

But in terms of longevity, it's got to be Alvarez. Thurman and Crawford will do alright if they keep winning.

Canelo is taking over May 5th weekend and Sept. 15th Weekend, boxing's biggest dates since Oscar De La Hoya made those his.

If Canelo beats Cotto he further cements his legitimacy as a true elite. If he continues to succeed and seek to fight the best, having a loss here and there should not affect his mainstream appeal. It didn't affect De La Hoya's or Pacquiao's.

Mayweather had a unique case because his entire marketing persona had more to do with him being Undefeated and being a complete ass about it. Mayweather with a loss has no viewers, but fighters like Canelo, De La Hoya, Pacquiao can have losses since they take big chances and make exciting fights.

Canelo's English is getting better, and Canelo seems to be getting better looking with age.....so HBO will push the s*** out of him nonetheless. He's going to be a PPV star one way or another.
