No matter what do-do,you grab from the daily mail or some desperate clip from sad fans trying find the skimpiest snippet of mannys success,
blinded and bewilded fans s****e the left overs fumes of the Paciou bull**** band wagon,
Even tho the wheels have truly fallen off,All the top boxers have turned their back on him coz they know he lost the fight, and he got on his horse and thought he could get away with it again,

In the HBO documentary 'Thrilla in Manila' Thomas Hauser, speaks about how America elevates some sports icons to mythical status, while largely forgetting others. You seem to have a hard time understanding that? George Foreman, if he never came back for his 2nd career, would be largely forgotten today by the general public. He was pretty much forgotten by the general public when he did return and wasn't treated seriously by promoters

You're using a bizarre strict scope on what it means to be remembered.

Joe Frazier's name will always be linked with Muhammad Ali's, ergo, he will be remembered for as long as Ali is remembered - indisputably so.

    How is he forgotten?

One doesn't NEED to reach the level of "mythical status" to be remembered. Why you seem to be predicating your argument on this is bizarre to say the least.

Smokin Joe was in Commercials for Miller Lite Beer circa 1977-1982, been on The Simpson's TV Show twice, was on talk shows countless times; so no he was not forgotten...!!!
