If you were around a long time you won't be judging the entire thing based on your own experience, you would be more mature to judge it based on what the public really said at the time. I remember it well and I've been a fan of Pacquiao(since 2003), Tyson(since 1990) and Mayweather(since 2003).

Many people called the Lewis vs Tyson fight a one-sided farce in favor of Lewis against a shot to nothing Tyson, while others called it a jab and grab fest till Tyson met his doom and others that were satisfied(Mostly feminists and Tyson haters) cheered on a great event which was publicly announced as a fight that "Didn't live up to the hype". What I felt about this fight is completely out of the discussion, I'm telling you the public's feeling based on general observance and reading.

The DLH vs Mayweather fight was also called a boring fight which didn't live up to its hype. Whether you thought it was close or not, or whether the judges did isn't the question here. The public made it super clear that it didn't live up to its hype and not even close. Even Merchant was quoted saying that, which many agreed to, during the actual event itself. There is no argument there. If there was more drama, compared to Mayweather vs Pacquiao, you will find people talking about this fight to this very day. Fact is, people don't care to because they didn't enjoy it.

Moral of the story. Fans in general will always find ways to discredit anything that's overly hyped. The hype for Mayweather vs Pacquiao came from the fans themselves as opposed to promoters. The promoters simply kept both fighters away from each others while the fans did their job of daily talking about it and barking for it to happen for six straight years. They hyped themselves up so much that they overlooked the fighter's styles and envisioned this fight as if it's something out of a Marvel super hero action packed movie. People themselves hype things out of the ordinary and even if it delivers, they will find a way to complain. Mayweather's style was obvious and easily viewed for free throughout the entire internet. People are just too stupid to observe and even if they do, they're too stupid to understand.

They could still make more money on the video game based on the fight. There is already a prototype demo out there :D

:rofl There's starving people everywhere you turn your head in this world, and all of us idiots just threw away $600 million to watch a Floyd and Pacquiao spar for 45 minutes. Not 1 cut, not 1 bruise, not 1 knockdown. The highlight of the fight was watching Floyd Sr call his son a b1tch in the corner between rounds :patsch

    God Bless America!!!

I don't feel it's a robbery, for a casual fight fan it is but for people such as myself and most boxing fans on this board, this fight was important to settle the debate once and for all, it's a historically significant fight even if it was disappointingly one sided but that's how boxing is, it's the sport of the unpredictable and even if the fight looks great on paper it doesn't always turn out that way.
