I like Canelo but Kirkland was brought in to make him look good. Kirkland has one of the worst chins in boxing and was a stylistic wet dream for Canelo.

Oscar has been through some rough times lately with GBP. However, you gotta give him credit for this event. Kirkland is a solid fighter and was completely overmatched here, but a lot of people still showed up to the fight and a lot of viewers tuned in on HBO. The fight between Canelo and Cotto could be huge.
Yes and it was a much better fight back then because Canelo was way younger with less experience. I'm not mad at the fight but it really means nothing on the level of Angulo to be honest..
Canelo sold out 40k seats in houston according to Oscar. The thing is Haymon is going to go after Canelo and can promise to make him a TBE level PPV star. Oscar/HBO are going to waste money grooming Canelo, only to have Haymon snatch him up when he is the legit #1 star in boxing.
