impressive numbers considering the price of the PPV. That's what people are missing. Not only did it smash the PPV records, but it smashed it while double the price aswell.

Yep. I guess what was ultimately an obvious anomaly of an event produced an anomaly regarding the PPV source distribution. There wasn't really any real precedent for this event, and so it was hard to forecast the ratios.

Yeah, it's impressive from all angles (other than the fight). Did you catch gate revenue figures? The record was smashed by x3.5... $72m. The previous record was $20m: Mayweather-Alvarez.

Social media has been here for over a decade so far and we've had endless exciting fighters during that same time frame, why hasn't any fight come close to breaking it?.

It's a shame the fight stank because imagine how much a rematch would generate if it was a close and exciting fight.

Remember all the idiot goons on here saying it would do less than 3 million, some claiming even less than 2 million PPV buys because nobody cared anymore and because the undercard sucked and because Mayweather promotions was doing such an awful job???

Yeah. Those people are some of the sharpest knives in the drawer! Smartest cookies in the jar! Truly great insight...

I expected 4.5 million and nothing less. I would have been impressed with 5.6 million but that's not the case.

I'm definitely more impressed with Canelo's 2.3m views even though it's not PPV.
