I think you need to rethink that.
Genaro Hernandez - The man at 130
    Angel Manfredy - Top contender
    Diego Corrales - P4P

No one on Canelos resume can be compared to those.
Even if you take out Manfredy, Floyds resume is still better.

And Alvarez arguably lost to Lara and Trout(but lets not get into that), while Floyd dominated his opponents.

Alvarez's been a pro for almost a decade now seeing as he turned pro at 15

Genaro Hernandez retired after his fight with Floyd. He was a 15 year veteran and had already been KO by Oscar.

As much as I liked Angel Manfredy, he wasn't even a world champion ever FFS.

MAYWEATHER'S TOP FIGHTS BY AGE 24

DIEGO CORRALES- was a very good win for Mayweather...But the FACT is Corrales was in and out of court leading up to the fight, and he was awaiting sentencing, and he already knew he was serving time in jail before the fight even happened...Nice way to go into the biggest fight of your life eh?
GENARO HERNANDEZ- Retired IMMEDIATELY after the Mayweather fight and 15 year career.
ANGEL MANFREDY- Never a world Champion
    CARLOS HERNANDEZ- Weak champion

CANELO'S TOP FIGHTS BY AGE 24

    ERISLANDY LARA
    ALFREDO ANGULO
    AUSTIN TROUT
    FLOYD MAYWEATHER
    JAMES KIRKLAND
    JOSESITO LOPEZ
    SHANE MOSLEY
    KEMIT CINTRON
    ALFONSO GOMEZ
    CARLOS BALDOMIR
    JOSE MIGUEL COTTO

    Please tell me your joking.

Their biggest star right now is a woman. That all alone overshadows everything else. It was obvious that this nonsense wasn't going to live for long anyway.

For sure! Alvarez is going to be a good one. As much as I hate to write it, Mayweather's stock went up as well.

BOOM. The other problem the MMA has is limited longevity of the top level fighters

Pretty damn impressive for a kid with no amateur record don't you think?

Mayweather by the time he was 24 had more than 115 boxing matches under his belt compared to Canelo's 46 fights.

Genaro Hernandez retired due to injuries. And getting KOd by Oscar is something to be ashamed of? And lets not throw around excuses if we really dont know how they affected the boxers.

ERISLANDY LARA - Arguably beat Canelo. Top 5 @ 154
ALFREDO ANGULO - Washed up, never beat a top 10 contender
AUSTIN TROUT - Top 5 @ 154, arguably beat Canelo
FLOYD MAYWEATHER - Welterweight who dominated Canelo
JAMES KIRKLAND - Inactive but a top fighter, arguably top 10 @ 154
    JOSESITO LOPEZ - Welterweight.
SHANE MOSLEY - Washed up welterweight
    KEMIT CINTRON - Washed up.
    ALFONSO GOMEZ - Welterweight.
    CARLOS BALDOMIR - Washed up.
    JOSE MIGUEL COTTO - :patsch

And you say Manfredy was never a world champ, well neither were Lara, Trout(both held regular WBA belts which dont count), Angulo, Kirkland, Lopez, Gomez...

Canelo was handeled perfectly. He faced a lot of former top contenders who were crafty but not too big of a danger. Everyone brought something to the table and it showed because Canelo from the Baldomir match is a bum in comparsion to what he was when facing Trout.

I agree he's good for the sport and is probably the future face of the sport. His numbers against Kirkland were very good.

I like Canelo but he hasn't beat anyone remotely close to the P4P list and arguably lost to lara and trout. Floyd demolished Corrales (P4P) and won a lineal title by 24. A shot Baldomir and Mosley? Lopez a Junior Welterweight. Come on, y'all reaching to do everything do discredit floyd. Canelo is on the rise and is the future of boxing though. Lets see what he does with Cotto and eventually GGG
