This might be the determining factor

    .

Why make the fight. Why take the fight. If a man weighs 147 at the weigh in he should be allowed to eat and drink whatever is legally allowed before the fight. I hate these clauses they reek of cowardice. And to agree to them reeks of desperation.

This is why Floyd is such a good business man. At the beginning of his career , when he was unknown, he would never make such decisions.

It's all about going to a fight with an advantage or atleast a nuetral advantage.

This is a good fight though

Still hard to pick despite these disadvantages for Porter

Haymon probably put him in a situation where he had to accept these stipulations. People look at stuff like this then still criticize guys like Ward, Froch, Stevenson for controlling their careers and not accepting disadvantages.

na, he will put on a good 5-10lbs before fight time. He will be 160 in that ring, and will demolish broner.

Does this clause apply only to Porter?

No wonder he's fighting Porter. I knew there was a catch. But why do fighters accept these disadvantages?

If the stipulation applies to both guys -- Broner also can't hydrate over that weight -- it's an even playing field, not a "disadvantage."

A disadvantage is getting into the ring with a guy who is 20 pounds bigger.
