Duran would have to be smart about his work (which he usually was) as Pacquiao will certainly retaliate with vicious combinations. In the 15 round era I agree that it's a hard fight for Pacquiao to last the distance in. Duran is a top level ATG. Tommy landing those same shots on Mayweather that he landed on Duran would also obviously lead to a KO.

Mayweather is beatable now by someone with a vicious punch. He got hit flush and buckled by Maidana and Mosley. His defence is good but he now does get tagged and he wouldn't be able to avoid a very hard and accurate puncher for 12 rounds — he would be guaranteed to face adversity. Floyd needs to stay away from GGG but we all know that fight is never going to happen anyway.

 

When PAciou applied pressure he had to score clean effective shots to the targeted area not to any elbows shoulders,knees and toes, like the nursey rhyme ,that why Mayweather shook his head to let him know,that it never scored but like I say if you don't know boxing and are unwilling to understand it you will be just grumbling scratching your head every time

I never forgave them for not making the fight when it mattered the most. I'm proud that I didn't paid for the ppv. The fight was build as an insult to the hard-core fans and media. PPV is a wrong platform to begin with and should not be supported by the true fans.

 

I'm not in favor of the 10 pts must system.

I'd rather have a system where each round starts off at 0-0.

I'd like to see a more objective way to score a fight rather than soley rely on subjective interpretation of who did better.

Maybe award a point to the figher who threw more, another point for landing more, and also deduct points for missing more, and for infractions like clinching, butts, elbows, etc. And of course award extra points for knock downs.

I'd also like to see a system that supports additional rounds. Maybe have the ref meet with both corners after the 12th round and ask if they wish to continue fighting. If one side say no because he can't continue or because he feels like he's won the fight then it automatically goes to the scorecards. But if both sides agree to continue then another round would ensue and the same practice would continue up until the end of the 15th round at which point the fight is over.

To get even more radical, it would be awesome if they could engineer a ring that can be quickly and easily scaled down in size so that after every round the ring would incrementally shrink. The obvious idea is to force more action as the fight wears on. (fanatical stuff, I know lol)

 

The mainstream public has already forgotten about the fight. They are watching the NBA playoffs and the Champs League.

Lost to Castillo, drew with Maidana though both were razor thin fights. He won both rematches convincingly, just like manny his shoulder wasn't 100% but that's boxing, just like Bradley's ankles and Froch's cracked rib and perforated ear drum.

 

yes mayweather should have destroyed pac. when a lesser or injured opponent is put in front of u (canelo vs kirkland, cotto vs martinez, may vs pac), ur supposed to handle business not cruise to a boring 12 round decision.
