Holding is a problem when it becomes excessive. At times it seems that refs tend to give warnings but then seem to lack the ***** to take off point(s)

The way to beat Mayweather is already set in stone - Maidana.
Maidana just needed to back off and pace himself a bit after being ahead in rounds, and just cruise to victory like that. I had their first fight a draw. The thing is, Maidana comes to fight so a Mayweather-esque running strategy like that won't sit well with him.

Pacquaio Fans: "Our guy lost, because he was pathetic in the ring, threw less punches than his opponent, couldn't cut the ring off at all and was countered by single punches at will, without being able to walk through and land the damage we all thought he'd damage. You have to ban the style that Floyd used now, because its too good and makes our fighter too ineffective"

How about you blame Pacquaio? Where the blame really belongs, for not being willing to walk through Floyd's "feather fists" and do damage to him, for not being able to cut down the ring and for constantly lunging into clinch range rather than setting himself at distance to throw.

Pacquaio is to blame for all the clinching, mostly because whenever he was at mid range distance, Floyd was out boxing his ass, so he'd lunge in, get tied up and you *****s blame the wrong fighter.

Yes, that's how people should go at it, rather than the constant utter nonsense posts here. This is how you discuss and present your argument. Afterall we are supposed to be fans of boxing, not cheerleeders for a particular fighter.

is for judges to re-evaluate ring generalship more on aggression than defense. boxing should favor fighters making the fight happen and not just content on defending and scoring jabs like the amateurs.

It's not always about the names at a weight. Hearns outgrew 147 early in his career but while he was able to make the weight he was a nightmare for anyone in the history of the division. People forget he left the division at 23 years old with a record of 32-1. Tommy was a freak of nature and we have never, and likely will never, see another WW with his physical tools.

With regards to who gives Floyd the most trouble I think your pick is a weird one. I'd say Duran is the best chance Floyd has of winning a fight at 147 out of the SRL/Duran/Hearns group. It's generally a consensus that Hearns is the all-time worst matchup for Floyd at 147. But, Duran, the naturally smallest of the 3 who fought at 147 much later in his career than the other 2 would be his toughest fight? Strange, but you are entitled to your opinion. Floyd has never come into a fight at 147 with the type of physical disadvantages he'd be giving up to Hearns. With day before weigh-ins Hearns would be able to re-hydrate to hold a significant weight edge. He'd be Floyd's tallest ever opponent and would have an 8 inch reach advantage. That's before we even get into the massive power discrepancy. And to simply say he would outbox him without substantiating it? Prime Hearns was never outboxed once. You had to seriously hurt him to keep him off you and Floyd hits nothing like as hard as SRL at 147. I think Tommy would hit him with the jab at will from range for about 5 rounds before eventually stopping him with the right hand.

And who are you saying is the weakest of the fab 3 if we're excluding Hagler? And what do you mean by weakest? If you're saying Duran is the 'weakest' I would vehemently argue that he is the greatest of that group. If you're saying physically weakest then probably so.

The problem again exists in the fact that your fighter wasn't ****ing aggressive, he threw less punches than his opponent - he may have been walking forward more often, but that's not exactly effective aggression

So when you A: Throw less punches in a round, B: Land less punches in a round, C: Let your opponent fight the style of fight he wants to fight in a round, D: Can't cut the ring off to stop your opponent evading you.

How the **** do you think a judge will score the round?
