Kirkland is fun to watch, but dude really need to learn the fundamentals of boxing. It would only make him a better fighter. He carriers the name lil Mike Tyson, but even Tyson had skill with his ferocity. This dude goes in throwing bombs wild and reckless. I'm surprised he hasn't hired a decent trainer yet, to assist him with what he already has. I fear if he doesn't, Kirkland career is headed no where fast.
honestly i dont think he can its not in him. its not in his dna hes an animal. the fundamentals in his defense of game is really wut he needs to focus on
I would agree with you, if he had already went to some top trainers, and gave it a shot with them, but because he hasn't. That option still remains and, your assumption is just that.
Not every fighter improves by becoming more fundamental. Some fighters fight to their strengths because they are indeed more effective that way. In Kirklands case, all he needs is an actual pro boxing training camp. Go with an established team who knows what success on this level is built on. James could be a bit better by fine tuning some things tho no doubt, and that would come with any true professional camp. That he made it this far with such amature preparations is a testament to his will and talents.
James Kirkland is just not that good, it's as simple as that, nothing he does will improve him much, he'll not suddenly become a boxer overnight.
Maybe James Kirkland should fire his trainers, move to Cuba, and use one of the Cuban National Team coaches to him the fundamentals of Boxing after twenty or thirty some odd fights. That would really turn things around. James Kirkland has gotten where he is by brawling his way through any and every opponent placed in his way. At this point in his career he is what he is and the only thing that he can do is get back with Anne Wolfe, go through her training camp and get into better shape, and go right back at it the same way he's been doing.
Not going to happen. It's very, very hard to teach someone to fight in a different way and with Kirkland, I feel that's impossible to do so.
