    Observe;

    How often do you bring your son to the boxing gym and put the gloves on him?

    It's a bit different for me. His life is very easy. He is a boy. My life is very different. He likes games. But boxing is not a game, it's a fight. He can't understand yet. I remember I went to his kindergarten and his teacher called me and said, "Gennady, nice to meet you. You are a professional boxer?" And I said yes and do you know me? She says, "Yes, of course. Because your son comes in and there's a small fight outside and your son [raises his arms and] says, 'I am pound-for-pound champion and champion of boxing champion.'" And I told him, "Son, please, this is not game, this is fight. Please stop." Right now he finally understands and says, "I like game, I don't like fight."

    I encourage you guys to go to ESPN and read the full interview. Golovkin seems like a really good guy. His in ring and out ring personalities are like night and day.

    I have seen a few interviews with him and he comes across as a decent and respectful guy.

    I hope he gets the big fights he is looking for.

    LOVE Gennady's interviews

    Some idiot on here was saying he needs to get an interpreter to do his interviews. Talk about missing the point

    GGG comes from a true amateur boxing culture. He is an athlete. It strikes you as surprising when most fighters you encounter really picked up boxing in jail or in an otherwise criminal environment.

    His interview after the Stevens fight was the best. You couldn't tell if he was being nice and classy, or incredibly rude and mean spirited

    'I tell him, go to your parents house and tell them I said hello' :lol:

    What's that even mean?

    He also said something like "I asked him, you serious? I'm serious" :lol: I've no idea what he meant by that.

    I honestly hope he never becomes proficient in the English language. His broken English really adds to his character.

    Triple G's age will catch up sooner than he will get a big fight.
    Boxers at this level only have 2-3 fights a year he needs the Canelo, Cotto, Froch, Ward matches now. at 33 the engine will run dry in 3-4 years.

    Its different when you know the Russian language and what he says makes sense from that cultures point of view even tthough he says it in English

    As to what he told his son, I had a similar talk before my first serious competitions in sports ( soccer, volleyball, badminton) where my coach talked to me and told me :I know youve had fun with sports your entire life but from this point on its serious business, we need to win fun goes out the window.

    Yet 50% of posters on here will argue he's a disgrace while saying Broner is a right good lad. :patsch:lol:
