Khan controlling range, fainting, and jabbing well..

These small improvements people are failing to understand that in Boxing mode Khan is very very hard to outpoint, Khan is boxing much smarter under Hunter which is great to see..

While I appreciate what hunters done and there's some good changes now that Khan away from Roach,Khan is much more credible, added to that is his speed and strength,But,,,,Virgil hunter has to constantly shout commands to Khan coz Khan swithches off,
I noticed it in his last fight,Khan has to register, first then react, you can see he wants to do what he always done in the past but Virgil stops him,by guiding him,my problem is once Khan switches off will revert back to the old Khan
Next he boxes have a listen and watch Khan reactions

I don't need to watch that video to see the improvements in Khan, it's clear to me he has made numerous adjustments under Hunter. Many of the flaws are no gone or minimised.

But some don't agree, they say he is boring now, less exciting and has regressed, like being entertaining has anything to do with being effective. Khan doesn't have the attributes to trade or fight aggressively like he did, he needs to be more the boxer, less the puncher.

But while Khan's ability and skill has improved his desire and self belief seem to have diminished. He's only fighting twice per year and cherry picking opponents to look good against. Refusing to fight Alexander in 2013 thinking he had a shot at Floyd, bringing up Broner as an opponent then picking Algieri instead.

I don't expect anything great from Khan during the rest of his career, it's obvious he isn't willing to take on competitive fights anymore which is a shame as he is a better fighter now than he has ever been.

You're right I noticed that as well. Khan looked better against Collazo because he was always comfortable and could do what he wanted but against a better opponent in Alexander the pressure made him revert back to his old ways in odd moments and Hunter had to keep reigning him in.

There is always the possibility that under real pressure Khan will revert back to his instincts and trade when he shouldn't and forget the tactics that minimise his flaws when he makes a mistake.

Yes I have heard this as well, Hunter is trying for Khan to use his head and not his heart, the damage Roach done is extensive, but as he trains under more and more he is improving and showing this in the ring..

He looked better with roach he would of stopped diaz with roach the only issue was when he fought punchers we have not seen him fight any with Virgil so the jury is still out.

I disagree, Roach did make improvements to Khan after his first loss, but he was trying to turn Khan into a puncher(Manny markII) something which he is not, Hunter on the other hand knows Khan is best a boxer not a puncher..

You'll see these 'improvements' really shine when he fights someone that isn't a completely favourable matchup for him.

He still backs up in a straight line with his hands down all the time. If Hunter was so great, this would've been corrected by now. He can't in-fight to save his life without getting cracked. He absolutely sucks at slipping punches.

at the time khan wanted to be manny mark II

khan disagrees he believes in his power :huh sad but true

you will here roach state khan is better off boxing than brawling in many an interview

as stated is khan not his own man , even virgil will not allow the stabilisers off

shouting constant instructions from the corner he is like a football manager not a boxing coach

and what do you disagree that roach made khans flaws
instead of him already being flawed

i see a plan in your flaw :nut

    He's been fighting hand-picked opponents FFS.

    Surely you can't deny that.

Like I said in the other thread, until he fights the style of fighter that has given him problems in the past, and beats them convincingly, any "improvement" is pure speculation.:deal

Problem with Khan is he thinks he hits as hard (relatively) as he did when he was a lightweight.

So when someone gets in his face his ego takes over and he starts trading. He has the heart and the stones, but his hasn't got the beard or the power.

As others have said, until I see a genuine Welter getting in his face and landing big head shots, I will reserve judgement.

Khan could be great, but his boxing brain never developed past his amateur days.

"Dr Roach" as Darni used to call him, has now done "extensive damage" to Khan.:patsch This really sums up what absolutely clueless ignorant ****s the majority of Khan fans are.

They will blame anything for his short-comings, usually weight and his trainer.

Once Khan gets inevitably sparked out at 147, will we get the usual "he was weight drained" ****e that we did at 135 & 140. Or will the trainer be blamed? Probably both.
