I think you are bending the truth somewhat, Froch has had a great career and all, but he never seemed to fight Ward for a rematch. Is there any doubt that Froch has never really believed that he could beat Froch in a rematch?

you're bending the language! when the fight was mandated, froch offered ward a career-high payday in a stadium. meanwhile, ward negotiated smith at home at a catchweight.

have you also missed the fact that ward has been unavailable for the last few years?

Why would he be motivated for a loss?

I wouldn't be motivated to endure another 12 round butt whooping either

Froch decided to hang em up the minute JCC jr said 'no mas' against Fonfara

Where are these Froch fans that were telling us he wants to fight ward? Haha.

I heard this on the radio too. Hearn was basically saying that Froch doesn't want another beat down. So much for his 'warrior' tag

Where is your evidence. Even during his litigation, Ward made clear that he was ready to fight anyone. He fought Edwin Rodriquez while he and Tutor were still disputing there case in court.

    Just stop you're embarrassing yourself.

what's funny is people pretending there's been any opportunity of a rematch before it was mandated a coupla months back, and pretending ward didn't turn it down.

the fact you still believe a word that comes out of ward's mouth is embarrassing. wanted froch, fought rodriguez and smith instead? and just so you don't forget, monaco was not built to be the vegas of asia.

ps your edit wasn't quick enough.

Where is your evidence that Ward was made a career high payday by Froch's team. I'm want to see the evidence. post it or shut the hell up.

Why is it that you're the only one who believes Froch wanted to fight Ward?

Shut the hell up and go sit down moron.

Yet during his litigation he fought nobody, not Froch not anyone. He also said his promoter was preventing fights from happening. So any approach from any fighter including Froch would have been rebuked by Goosen. Ward may have been mentally and physically ready to fight anyone but his promotional issues made him a no go for anyone. Any negotiations with Ward at the time would have been futile as there was no way to know how long he would be tied up in his legal disputes.

Nobody really knows what happened in the negotiations other than Ward and Froch's teams.

What we do know is that neither seemed to want the fight as much as the fans. Ward said he didn't need to chase Froch and didn't go to the Froch/Groves rematch where he had a great opportunity to build up the fight and challenge Froch and Froch said he wasn't motivated for a rematch and would only take it on his terms.

The WBA then mandated the fight. Froch said he would only take it on his terms, Ward said Froch would not dictate anything. Ward then agreed to a UK fight but gives Froch the perfect get out by demanding it's not in Nottingham. Froch says Nottingham is the only option, Ward says he'd agree to Wembley which is quite frankly a no go, might as well ask for the fight on the moon.

The WBA cut off for the fight to be agreed passes and a few days later Ward announces he will fight on June 20th most likely against Periban which suggests he was looking at other options while negotiating for Froch. By making the June 20th date it kills the fight with Froch.

People will have their own opinion on who ducked who but it's just speculation. What cannot be denied though the fight was offered to Ward, just not to the terms he wanted and that Ward's request for Wembley was just ludicrous.

It would not sell out Wembley you idiot. Completely agree that froch would get outclassed again though.

What ACTUAL negotiations ever occured for that fight?

I saw Froch flippantly say in an interview that he'd fight Ward in Nottingham.

Then Ward said, also in the media, that he'd fight Froch in England but not Nottingham.

Doesnt exactly sound like someone straining at the leash to avenge his defeat.

And also add into the scenario that Froch and his team had said for the previous 2-3 years that "We're not gonna fight Ward, theres no money in it"

He fought Edwin Rodriguez during his litigation.
