i've said all along froch's desire for a rematch waned in direct proportion to ward's career, and a fight now suits neither man, but despite all this and being a family man considering retirement after a long, hard career, froch made a feasible proposition and ward turned it down.

the rematch would have happened but for a catalogue of woeful career decisions by ward. given he refuses to fight the dirrells even though they're both up for it, and has turned down lucrative fights v bute, stevenson, kessler and now froch, it ain't froch's motivation people need to question.

Where is your evidence that Ward was offered career high payday by Froch's team and turned it down. Where is you evidence that an offer was made to Ward at all. Evidence or shut the fock up jackass.

we've seen since that froch ain't bothered about the belts, and he mentioned the city ground because he's said for some time it was there or vegas ppv or nothing, and ward can't provide vegas ppv.

and even if wba mandating the fight were the only reason, nothing changes the facts that froch seized the opportunity, made ward a feasible and generous offer, ward refused, wba stopped purse bids which in all likelihood would go matchroom's way, and ward announced a catchweight bout against smith which he'd been negotiating all along.

 

i think it's a combination of age, being contented with a long career, unthought of riches, family life and over time coming to terms with ward being neither available nor a draw.

do you believe if ward's career had progressed as it should've, the rematch wouldn't've happened?

 

I have to agree with Froch and admit that it is probably hard to get motivated to take another butt kicking.

 

No he didn't. He fought Rodriguez in Nov 2013, Ward didn't sue Goosen until Dec 2013. While Ward did request a arbitration earlier that year that he lost he didn't sue Goosen until after the Rodriguez fight.

 

Are you denying that Froch and his team said on multiple occasions words to the effect of

"We have no interest in fighting Ward, he doesnt bring in enough money"?

froch's oft-repeated plan after losing the s6 final was clear, get a title and go after rematches of his defeats. as ward's career waned, so did froch's desire for a rematch and quotes over time reflect this.

negotiations never happened because ward turned the offer down flat.
