Lets be honest, CANELO would get CRUCIFIED on ESB for fighting Monroe!

I've been through this with absolute morons like you several times. Yes technically anything above 154 is MW, but the fight is also considered a catchweight middleweight fight if you want to get technical. A middleweight fight, and a catchweight middle fight aren't the same you moron. Use your common sense. If I said Canelo never fought a catchweight middleweight fight you can criticize me, but I clearly stated that he never fought a MW fight, which he hasn't.

    Next!

So you consider fighting at a catchweight that's 1 pound over their weight class a real mw fight? If you want to get techinical it's also considered a catch weight middle fight, so no it's not the same thing.

    155 isn't a weight class.

so what its where canelo is fighting at this point in his career and he is not ready to move up to 160 yet. imo he should get his diet and conditioning right and stay at 154, he is not big enough to be dominant at 160, his power will go down and his chin will get smashed there. the only thing that might improve is his stamina. if i were canelos team i would put that boy on a strict diet, keep him at 154 and dare ggg to come down to fight him.

Nah, if he can't make 154 he IS big enough and needs to move up (properly). I fully expect him to in his next fight or the fight after.

nope, he is too small for 160. he would get the chavez vs fonfara treatment if he moves up. he needs to get on a proper diet and training regiment and stay at 154 a weight which is far more suitable to his height/size. ggg can come down for a fight at 154, canelo is the a-side.

canelo moving up to 160 at this stage of his career would just be pure laziness and stupidity on his part.

Okay, if he can make 154 with better dieting I've no problem with that, but if he's unable to make the limit (for whatever reason) I expect him to move up soon rather than **** around at the catchweight forever.

I think you're selling him short as well, Canelo is FAR superior to Chavez and he'd have success at MW, I've no doubt about that.

he is only 5 7 there is no reason he should be fighting above 154 at 24 years of age. same reason ggg should not move up to 168. their respective power will go down and shots from naturally bigger men will ko them quickly. the only fair fight between ggg and canelo would be at a catchweight, perhaps 156 would be a fair meeting ground.

He's not 5'7, he's 5'9 as per BoxRec. And I agree, GGG doesn't really need to move up, but the difference between him and Canelo is that GGG can comfortably make the weight, in fact he said he could even make 154 (doubtful but I'll just put this out here).

If GGG outgrew the weightclass in a way that he can no longer make the middleweight limit (which is not likely as he seems to be a natural middleweight) I'd expect him to move up the same way and fight Ward or whoever at SMW.

I'm just not a fan of catchweights, I believe in official weight classes.

as far as their ability to potentially beat Canelo when they stepped in the ring with him, Monroe would be the 2nd toughest guy he's ever faced. you could arguably put Lara ahead of Monroe but he ran for his life for a reason.

canelo was shorter than mayweather, canelo is really 5 7, 5 7 1/2 tops. canelo should get his training and diet right and fight at the weight that is more beneficial to him.

yeah, triple G is a good 3 inches taller than Canelo but that latter is much broader in the chest. he's as much a middleweight as Golovkin is.

i didn't realise weight classes were defined by height and age. you learn something new every day.

Nobody is hyping Monroe Jr. Fact is nobody wants to step in the ring with GGG. Haven't seen top fighters avoid a guy like this in years. It's Sonny Liston all over.
