GGG gets eaten up at SMW

    If he was as confident as his crazed Hulkamaniac like fanbase he would have already jumped up for the much bigger money and legacy enhancing fights.

    The fact is his best win at 160 is between Daniel Geale and Martin Murray... these guys are a level below world class and beating them doesn't prove a great deal at all. Yet somehow his fans think he goes up to SMW and walks through the division?! I don't think i've ever seen a bigger collective delusion amongst boxing fans in my 25+ years of following the sport.

    The top guys at 168 are not only way more talented, skilled and harder hitting than what GGGs seen at MW, they're much bigger.

    We are talking guys like Ward, DeGale, Froch, Dirrell (who already has a win over Golovkin in the amateurs), Groves...these fighters are literally in a different stratosphere to the Stevens, Macklins, Geales etc of this world. Im not saying Golovkin can't beat some of these guys, but theres no way in hell he fights all of them and doesn't lose at least twice. Right now I'd pick Ward and DeGale to beat him for sure. The others are all 50-50 fights.

    Im a fan of Golovkin and enjoy his fights. I just try and stay realistic.

    The question is, if those guys would like to fight GGG, why didn't they fight, when they had the opportunity?

    The only SMW that brings money is Froch and he thus far has said no.

    Not sure what you are on about regarding talent, the only 2 guys at SMW with real talent are Ward and Froch and Froch is retiring and Ward said he wanted 3 tuneups before facing GGG.

    GGG also has awin over Dirrell in the ams...so to say he gets "eaten up" is a bit stupid.

    Didn't GGG beat Dirrell? Both times? Maybe I'm misrecalling. Either way, GGG's a natural middleweight, I want him to stay there and clean the division, once that's over he should move up and take on the new challenge but it'd be foolish to move up before he accomplished all he can in his best weight.

    GGG said after his HBO debut, against Proksa that he is willing to fight anyone from 154 till 168 pounds. He called out Floyd, Martinez and Ward.

    Martinez rater fought Cotto, cherrypicking went wrong. Cotto lost to Trout ffs.

    Floyd never mentioned GGG, he didn'tduck a prime Pacquiao for half of a decade to lose his 0 against him and he knows that.

    Ward? As I mentioned in other threads. He's not relevant. He was supposed to fight GGG in a big fight instead of Macklin but what happened? He rather commentated the fight! He had a comeback against Rodriguez, an unknown nobody. Then he was inactive again .. whom is he fighting now? Someone who lost twice to Abraham.
    GGG wants to fight 4 times a year, not waiting for Ward, to fight in front of 300 people Ward's garage.

    Froch .. said "I would never fight Golovkin". There's an interview, check it out.

    Chavez Jr. He canceled the contract a few days before it had to be done! He even denied millions of Dollars .. he rather stepped up to LHW and now his career is over. How much did he make against Fonfara? I doubt even 10% of what he would do against GGG.

    Who else is there in SMW?

    The Dirrel brothers, Abraham, Sturm, Stieglitz, De Geale.

    Who is in and around MW?

    Canelo, Cotto, Lemieux, Quillin, Floyd, Eubank Jr., Andrade, Lara, Charlo, Jacobs, Lee, Murata ..

    As a boxing fan, as a boxer who is dedicated to his sport and as a businessman, which what would make more sense?
