Yeah there's a difference between 1000's light jabs and taps. Light jabs count (they have a notable level of force). Taps are used more for other reasons i.e a probing to set up shots (you can use jabs for this, or you can use the hand you usually throw jabs with), establishing distance, using as a control mechanism etc.
Just pretend I didn't mention it then. I have the impression some people falsely scored some taps as though they're light jabs. I'm just making an extra precaution lol

I would also say, if it has no force, it isn't really a legit punch. You can notice when it has any sort of force or doesn't. It isn't really something that can be ****ysed further.

Manny isn't quite as fleet of foot as he used to be due to age, but there are other reasons he seemed slower and was more flat footed.

Speed wise, I don't think he was to bad against Floyd. He just appeared a lot slower due to Floyd's superior foot speed. Try and blank out Floyd and Manny looked quite sprightly.

As for being more flat footed, there where large parts of the fight with both guys standing in front of each other and not throwing; Floyd waiting for Manny to lead off so as he could counter and Manny looking for openings that ultimately where not there. This is the main reason for Manny's flat footedness. He was moving his upper body but was not feinting. By not feinting Floyd could read Manny, so Floyd didn't bite and therefore no openings appeared for Manny to capitalise on.

I don't think this version of Manny could beat Floyd, but by not feinting to try to mess with Floyd's rhythm and getting him to lead off first and then counter, Manny effectively threw away his best chance of getting to Floyd.

Floyd is all about that siege warfare. Don't engage the enemy directly if they can beat you. Starve them out, cut off their water supply, make them wear pillow gloves, and wait til they get old. Then take them out.

No but its clear that Floyd got a lot of credit for punches Manny was blocking with his gloves. The HBO(RJ mostly)/Showtime/Sky announcers were all a disgrace.

Haha, who did he "starve out" other than Alvarez by 2 pounds?

Who did he dictate "pillow gloves" to other than Maidana?

Who did he "cut off the water supply" to?

I will wait. Thank you for considering a response.

He's been flat footed since he fought Clottey in 2010.

it's irrelevant. Judges don't watch fights in slow motion.

^^:D And were supposed to believe they do stringent drug testing? The 6:1 ratio allowed for Test levels is a disgrace.

    1. Metaphor, and you admit the validity of my statement with your question.
    2. You once again admit the validity of my statement with your question.
    3. Metaphor again. And also Alvarez.

You aren't going to argue that Mayweather doesn't wait until the most advantageous time to fight his best opponents (if he ever fights them at all), are you? Or that he calls them up from lower weight divisions? Or that he fights guys who are at best gatekeeper-level?

Canelo had more fights than Floyd and just beat Trout who defeated Cottoe. And he only weighed in 1 lb less than he did against Trout!!! Yet he was green and drained :rofl
