If event A is watched by 5M people and event B is is watched by 50,000 people, which one is more likely to be remembered? Many of you guys don't seem to care much for math.

There is ZERO chance that Cotto Canelo happens in September. Z E R O. That means NO PPV fight for Alvarez in September unless it's against Mayweather - which AIN'T happening. Alvarez ain't gonna get that September date. Period, end of...

    Poor Canelo

Going toe to toe with Floyd on a PPV fight with a rival network is stupid.

That's all moot because FLoyd's never making that many PPV's again. Based on all the negative reaction to his last fight, he's probably going back to making FLoyd/Maidana type PPV numbers while Canelo/Cotto could probably do around 800K. WIth FLoyd 's penchant for anti-action I'm convinced many fans would prefer to watch the fireworks promised by Canelo/Cotto.

That's a more plausible scenario than the fantasy you're painting.:deal

Floyd/Maidana did between 800K and 900K. Canelo and Cotto have only done a fraction of those numbers as an A side. Once Floyd formally announces his September fight, you will hear about Cotto and Canelo fighting in late September or October shortly after.

What it convinced people is that #48 got schooled and in a rematch he would get schooled again.

Nobody wants to see a rematch of Pac/FLoyd.

If that really is true, and I have seen it posited here many times over, then who is really to blame? If you're dumb enough to spend money in the hopes to see a fighter lose and then continue to do the same fight after fight, even though he continues to win, fight after fight, then you deserve to lose every penny.

I never understood this mentality, but all of those people who are buying PPV's to see a man taste defeat must be huge, incomprehensible fools. They have no one else to blame for the success and st ardom of Mayweather than themselves. This is especially true if you dropped $100 on the Pac fight and didn't get the action you expected (and then complained about it), even though Floyd has not been exciting for many years now.

Ultimately, the man is still 48-0 and nothing keyboard warriors on internet forums are going to say will change that. Maybe that's why there are so many sandy va ginas around here now a days? :think

Mayweather has a contract with showtime with gurantees him a base salary of 32million regardless of how many PPV's he sells. That figure increases the better the fight does. He has no reason back off the date for Canelo who's still an HBO world championship boxing type of fighter.
