Douglas got a 13-14 second count. That is a fact, now go ahead and spin oh douglas was listening to the count, Douglas was watching the ref, Douglas could have gotten up much earlier blah blah.
I respect you boxing IQ but i also recall you making excuses for your favorite fighter a while ago i.e. Lewis wasn't properly acclimated to the high altitude in his fight against Rahman..no offense bro just being real here
First of all that was Foxy who said that, not me, and there was an element of truth to that. BUT and here's the big BUT, I still never claimed Lewis won that fight or deserved to win that fight. There's no spin about whether he won or lost, just a question of why. If you don't think he lost because he was complacent and didn't take Rahman seriously than I guess you consider Rahman a better fighter than I do. And the rematch Lewis proved who the better fighter was.
Mate, Tyson is my all time favourite fighter, but that 13-14 second count is ridiculous. Watch it again and watch Douglas. He pretty much times it himself. If the ref counted faster or slowed, Douglas would of got back up.
Now that is borderlining on if, would have, should have which is what all the reasons given for Tyson get dismissed for by the haters. There is video evidence to prove that the count for douglas at the expected normal pace is 13-14. This douglas would have got up earlier excuse holds no water.
Then why do these same reasons not get accepted for Tysons defeat to douglas? Was buster douglas a better fighter than Tyson? Didn't Tyson have the same issues leading into that fight?
The babbling idiot (BI) has spoken. What's wrong BI have you been schooled too many times? Can't put forth any decent rebuttals to my comments? Or maybe you just need a time out.
That same logic can be applied to Tyson and Douglas then..Now I know Lewis is 20x the fighter Rahman is and the same can be said for Tyson/Douglas..great fighters have off nights..but that acclimation nonsense means nothing when you get clocked early and laid flat..
Tyson for the most part showed plenty of heart and toughness in his defeats especially Douglas, Holyfield 1, Lewis. In the Williams fight, the doctors were amazed how he fought on for 4-5 rounds with a torn knee. Even in the Mcbride fight, he didn't go down but in his mind he was like "wth am i doing here, why do i have to do this, is it really worth it any more?"
Also Tyson came in an equally worse fitness condition against Douglas but he was on his feet for 10-11 rounds. Being chinny like Lewi was has nothing to do with conditioning, he was just chinny end of story.
I haven't even included the 13-14 sec count for douglas issue. It could be argued Tyson technically didn't even lose that fight. Same can't be argued for chinny lewi
