Not quite, Tim. He's willing to languish on the ropes to rest. I wouldn't say he ever looks comfortable there, like a Floyd Mayweather Jr. does.

Páez is actually making some headway digging into Benavidez's chest with constant stabs, putting together straight punches knifed in sequentially with both hands. Benavidez is spending lots of time laying on the ropes, simply watching (and feeling) Páez work. A couple of chops from Benavidez to back Páez off, but he jumps right back in there and stays busy. Páez willing himself to a 10-9 here, on adrenaline.

Mancini has it 59-54 Benavidez. The play by play commentator is questioning his giving Benavidez the sixth. Ray claims Benavidez was countering off the ropes - meh, not really effectively IMO.

 

This is a good fight. It would seem a lot better if the co-main event hadn't just spoiled us.

Páez is getting in pinball flippers on either side of the body, moving Benavidez against the ropes, but forced to duck and expose the back of his own head for Benavidez to drop punches, forearms, and elbows on as Benavidez jacks his chin with crowbar uppercuts to pry him off whenever he doesn't. Benavidez is matching Páez's output now, and landing the harder and more effective blows.
