GGG vs Floyd is a little too much to ask far.

At this point it is too much to ask, would like to see it but, we are talking about a guy on his way out and who has already stated he does not enjoy boxing like he use to. I actually saw it in his fight vs Pacquiao, Mayweather should have mowed that version of Pacquiao to pieces, but instead he just made it a comfortable win for himself, didn't take any real chances.

 

If 147 was Floyd's first division, maybe then it would be warranted, but he's a 39 year old guy who's 150 on fight night in his 5th weigh class being asked to fight a career middleweight who cuts to 160.

 

I doubt GGG can make 154. If he did he would be the walking dead. It only makes sense at 160, which is too high for Mayweather to go.

 

yeah he could've KO pac easy! his pops even knew it but Floyd is done with impressing. he did that plenty of times, gets in, gets paid, and gets out Like Pretty Boy should!

People just want the fight because they'd know Floyd is at a huge disadvantage and would more than likely lose.

They just want the guy to lose, that's the entire reason.

 

There are four reasons this fight won't happen.

1. Floyd is about to have his retirement fight, he's not looking to face some unproven guy two weight classes above where he fights
2. Golovkin is not established as a draw, nor is he established as a true champion fighter. He's not even cleaned out a weak 160 yet.
3. While Floyd would likely win this fight, the amount of damage he'd take against the much bigger fighter simply wouldn't make it worth it
4. Floyd has nothing left to prove at 38.

Floyd would still be a heavy favorite against Golovkin, that's the reality of matters. But the fight would be entirely boring, it would be Floyd vs Baldomir 2.

 

Frankly, I think GGG and his people know the fight would never happen but they are merely trying to hype GGG up by associating his name with the most famous guy currently in the game...and if by some miracle it did happen GGG would surely drain himself to 154 and win or lose he gets paid big and gets a ton of exposure which would help his career (even if Floyd beats him).

It's all kind of dumb but GGG seems to have been poorly managed so far and I guess they are grasping at straws at this point trying to make a big splash and turn him into a PPV fighter.

 

I wonder why that is...

 

1. Because he's not enough of a draw for other fighters to bother with the risk.
2. Because his promoters can't get the fights signed.
3. Because he is happy being paid to destroy guys that sit outside Top 10.

 

Golovkin is the best at avoiding and getting out of clinches. I've seen him teach other boxers how to avoid and it's quite rough. He'd break Mayweathers ARMS.

 

Who is an established PPV draw besides Pacquiao? I mean really? Canelo....? He had 2 mill buys on free-viewing so I guess he's closest, still not PPV. I don't even think Khan had a million people view his last fight and it was free.
