Crystina Poncher veering a little into Jim Gray territory, pestering Benavidez about why he spent excessive time on the ropes, annoying him visibly. :yep

Wouldn't say not impressive, he did stop a guy who hadn't been stopped in eight years. Just needs to stop the mental lapses(laying on the ropes). Needs to keep using his jab which is good when he uses it. He still is tall for the division and has fast hands and power, he could be a world champ, just needs to correct some things.

I remember when people were saying Benavidez vs Gomez was going to be the next big fight. Crazy how things change. I still think both turned pro way to early, that probably wouldn't make a difference but idk.

The weird thing is, even though he looked so much smaller, Páez was actually the one coming down in weight to challenge Benavidez.

Páez hasn't fought under the 140lb mark since 2008. His last twenty-odd bouts have been at middle, super middle, light middle, and mostly welter.

Benavidez only fought once in 2013? :huh Why?

...and this is kinda late in 2015 for his first outing.

Paez not being stopped in 8 years says A LOT about the level he's been fighting at.
