If GGG snatches a SMW title, I look forward to you guys jumping to his defense against having to fight LHW Ward or Kovalev, because poor GGG is "two weight classes separated" from them since he's really a MW. All while GGG starts calling himself TBE.

Oh, wait...no ****ing way you will do that.

Mayweather has fought twice at 154 in the last 10 years, his most recent fight was 147 and he also recently fought at 145. He stretched himself to make 154 - now you want him to stretch to 160 against a guy who walks around at 175, isn't proven, isn't a PPV draw and has had problems making fights against the top fighters in his own weight class?

    No thanks.

Kovalev is much more proven than Golovkin. I could see the hilarity of Floyd beating Golovkin at say a 155 CW to get the MW title and people saying "Well he's just ducking Kovalev"

Stretch to 160? Why the hell would you say that? GGG clearly offered to fight at 154...and my post which you responded to stated that. Christ almighty.

Yes, it's not a great move for Mayweather (risk vs. reward is awful as he stands to get KTFO and he could make easier money elsewhere with little risk), but from GGG's side the point stands: Mayweather is the most famous fighter in boxing today, this means huge exposure and $$$ for GGG. Mayweather holds multiple titles at 154. GGG is willing to fight him at 154.

Wouldn't they? Apparently he was ducking Mosley, Pacquaio, Hatton, Cotto, Maidana, Alvarez, Judah ( Yup, people seriously said he was ducking Judah )

Every time he goes and beats someone, someone else steps up to say "Well he's being ducked"

Golovkin is playing the "If I mention his name in an interview, it'll increase my own worth" game. He knows the fight isn't getting made and if he really felt he could fight at 154 - why doesn't he go clean up Alvarez, Lara and co - who are much better than what he's facing at 160.

Oh, poor Mayweather! What a tough break for TBE!

I agree about the "increase my own worth" thing. GGG knows this fight will never happen but having his name thrown around in the same sentence as Mayweather is good for business.

I'm sure 154 wouldn't be easy for him to make and imo Mayweather is really the only opponent he would bother draining like that to fight. Lara isn't a big enough fight (though I bet he would do it at 160). Canelo is already fighting above 154 while trying to avoid the MW division, hanging on to any sweet $$$ fights left at Light MW before inevitably getting starched by GGG at MW.

Well, let say not exactly like Floyd, but box and winning by going the distance instead of going for the KO. I think he has shown the attribute of winning fights by decision. Excellent jab, power and counter punching skills to slow down aggressive opponents, excellent chin and stamina to last the distance and has the straight arm tactic to keep the distance.
