I was surprised when I heard the news. Barri / Kid Galahad seemed to be gathering a bit of momentum. It certainly didn't seem to be his ability or his attitude which held his back more boxing politics and possibly promotional exposure.

I did go to one of his fights at Ponds Forge, Sheffield and to be fair there was probably more people swimming in the pool than was watching the boxing. Lol

The sad reality Len and I value fairness and honesty very highly so it's more disturbing for me than most. I'd adopt a zero tolerance attitude towards performance enhancing drugs in sport and have people tested far more rigorously with life time bans for anyone caught cheating.

Good point, but these things arent retrospective.
For example the Irish swimmer Michelle Smith gets to keep all her Olympic medals etc cos she wasnt 'caught' until later. (She protested her innocence it must be said)

On the other hand he'd hardly be so precise with everything he done, no way would he intentionally have done anything

    Nice one.

It's tempting to believe everyone in the sport is on something but most bar the very top fighters just aren't competent enough to get away with it all the time I feel. We'd be seeing bans left, right and centre.

I was reading someone ranting that GGG has the body of a 43 year-old and looking at his public workout, it really doesn't suit his face you know. Anyone think he could be clean?

    Of course he would. :huh

Making sure you don't get caught is paramount and the only way to do that is to be utterly precise in everything that you do.

If you believe that you're naive. It doesn't require intelligence to beat the so called 'testing'. In fact, you have to be extremely stupid or careless to get caught. Lance passed 500 'tests' remember.

my god i am constantly astonished at how naive people really are on this subject...especially in this day and age ,its all there for you at the click of a button...

people need to educate themselves on this kind of thing and get their heads around it...maybe put yourself in the position of these athletes/sportsmen and women..take a step back and really think it through before posting about lifetime bans and getting all irate .

human beings cannot ride bikes for thousands of miles up mountains day after day...they cannot run as fast as a horse or have the power of a gorilla without a helping hand...

all these people are completely dedicated and amazingly talented but they still need 'boosted'..!! and that is all it really is.. PEDs will not make any normal person a world champion in any sport ,as i said if it was that easy we would all have a medal or two...PEDs are the equivalent of putting better fuel in a racing car, thats all..an extra couple %..

also ,you can only test/get banned for what the testers are looking for so if you have a skilled chemist they will invent new PEDs all the time to keep you one step ahead of the game..
