If it's prime 91'-95'Bowe I'd pick him by SD. But yea, The President is NOT a guy you want to go to war with. He took Tua's prime that night. Beat him at his own game. Ike had an iron chin, good skills, and amazing stamina second only to Marciano. But a highly skilled, experienced prime Bowe would barely be able to humble and contain a beast like Ike. Bowe could be lured into a war, but he'd find out real quick it'd be a bad idea and switch tactics.
Yep, and possibly by late stoppage. Ike built his name beating two small, albeit good, heavyweights. I personally scored his fight against Tua for the Tuaman, although I concede I hold what's likely the minority view there. In any case, Bowe at his best was light years better than anything Ike ever showed.
Bowe wins this fight easily. Ibeabuchi is the most overrated HW in boxing history. He had TWO fights against live opposition, one them he arguably lost and the other against a blown up super-middle he predictably KOd. Bowe would destroy this mirage.
You seem to be overrating him a tad. He beat 2 much smaller fighters than himself. Bowe outpoints him in a very entertaining fight. Something like 116-112.
I think some of you guys are thinking of the Bowe that could've been if he'd actually trained hard and come in prepared all the time. But we know he didn't, and the buffet-destroying, underprepared, overweight version of Bowe would've gotten the living **** kicked out of him by Ibeabuchi, who ALWAYS came into his fights in top shape. You never saw Ibeabuchi unprepared. Too bad he couldn't keep it together outside the ring, he could've won the title.
Well, he warred with Tua for an entire fight, and he caught up with the elusive Chris Byrd. Besides, Bowe's best wins, the ones that "earned" him the HOF berth, are against a blown-up cruiserweight. Could he deal with a strong, full heavyweight with a pressure style and power like Ike? True to form, Bowe wouldn't have taken a lesser-known heavyweight like Ibeabuchi seriously, and would've paid for it. Just my two cents.
