Golovkin simply cannot top what González just did. Through no fault of his own, mind you - just, Monroe (though he's a decent middleweight and, of those available, not as bad a challenger as many are making out) isn't the same level of fighter as Sosa. Even a flawless performance here by Golovkin won't make his the most impressive of the night.

Monroe is very good and probably could have developed into a top 5 guy and belt holder if he weren't being rushed in and fed to GGG now like this. Sosa, though, was a 2-weight champion and proven quantity and, while 35, still very capable with some good recent wins on his resume (so by no means shot) - and he got destroyed, as comprehensively as can be done.

How the hell is it weak?

Yaegashi, Naoya, Narvaez, Tete, Cuadras, etc.

    Lots of good fighters there.

He's beaten some very good fighters.

Wirhout Floyd hes p4p 1 material imo.

    Floyd clearly trumps him though.

So basically, he'd need to take 10% off his frame to make 154 and he walks naturally around as an SMW.

It could be argued that Estrada qualifies. Plus, there are a host of good solid champions on his resume (Yaegashi, Sosa, Takayama, Rodriguez, etc, etc) on the resume.

I'm not saying he's number one yet...I am saying that he could very easily get there with one or two quality victories like Estrada II and/or Inoue.
