The ref did the right thing. Although Willie slightly got up after 10. The ref was gonna allow him to continue. There has been a rash of fighters that intentionally miss the 10 count, by a hair and then they complain, whine and make excuses.
Indeed. But it is kinda a punk move. He wanted to quit the fight and was going to use the ref. Idiots like Malik Scott get counted out. They want to quit and use the ref, but then make every excuse in the book and blame the ref , and not give his opponent credit. Oh and getting knocked out/ quitting gets you a WBC Tittle eliminator vs the Bum squad leader.
I liked every fighter on the card last night. I really liked Monroe. I thought he did a good job and I thought he was very smart in stopping when he did. He knew as soon as he stood up he would be swarmed and quite possibly hurt. I want to see him continue as a boxer and not get brain damage. First time actually watching Roman and, holy crud, he's just as good as everyone says.

People complain about fighters being afraid to get into the ring with Golovkin and then complain when someone gets into the ring with him, gives it his best shot for 6 rounds and decides he has no more to give. I have no problem at all with what Monroe did.
