He's not legendary by any means.

he can start calling himself elite when he starts to beat the top names in boxing. HIs division isn't littered with great fighters (besides a blownup JMW in Cotto,) but there are good fights to be made for him at 168 if he can't unify the MW division.

I think he's a terrific fighter and he's looked exceptional up to this point as a pro. But he won't cross the elite barrier until he starts beating the top guys- for me specifically it would be Alvarez or Ward.

He's had a very similar career to date, that Arthur Abraham had - similar opponents beaten, similar knock out ratio. I think he's a darn sight better than Arthur Abraham, but lets not forget that Abraham was VERY highly touted when he was beating/breaking similar fighters to what GGG is fighting now.

I didn't suggest anything, I said it so you could clearly understand it. I'm not hating on the man but I am calling it like I see it. He's knocking everybody out. That's not a testament to his skills but to his power. He has fought some good fighters but no elite ones. Greatness can only be affirmed by greatness.

What other 154er would annihilate Mayweather?

What 160er would beat every other 160er?

What other 168er would beat Ward?

What other 175er could have Kovalev running away whimpering?

What other middleweight in history punches as hard as Tyson?

Monroe is half Cuban? Ggg will have his hands full with a real Cuban fighter like Lara. Still, Ggg is smart for a brawler, he's smarter than most.

Yes he is elite but with the current crop of middleweights the outcome of his fights are very predictable.
