Can someone explain why Froch deserves to cherry pick?

He's a multi-millionaire and it would cost his ordinary, working class fans upwards of £17 to watch him and yet some of you propose he should be able to cherry pick his next opponent (assuming there is one)? As much as Froch has given to boxing, it's given back to him 10x over. He'll need never work another day in his life, so why do people think he should get a huge pay day for fighting a walkover of an opponent?

3 of his last 4 fights have been mandatories with the other being against a shot Kessler, yet you want him to cherry pick his next fight?

What planet do you live on?

I'm getting a bit annoyed personally at all the 'he can choose who he wishes to fight, he's earnt it' posts.

If he's not going to fight someone decent, just retire.

imo he talked up about a legacy so much that now he's worried one bad loss will 'ruin' it, whilst he will always be remembered at some point now for the massive Wembley fight regardless if he win, lose or draws any other fights.

Just seen the latest news post on skysports boxing, sounds like he's trying to back track that he doesn't want a fight in Vegas now as the arena's are too small. Or that he can't get up for a Degale fight (same article). It's all just excuses, i'd have much more respect if he was just honest. Fight on against decent opposition or retire.

Completely agree, sometimes fans get so attached to fighters that they treat them like the fighter is actually fighting for them, they make excuses and give a lot of excuses, it's not just Froch fans it goes for fans of most fighters, the guy below your post is absolutely spot on too, he should just retire if he doesn't want a tough big fight, unfortunately he has enough loyal fans to give him the go ahead for a cherry picked fight that will be put on ppv and still sell

Depends who you are talking about? There will always be keep busy fights or even fights that aren't huge but will build you into the huge fight you are chasing, Froch wants his as some sort of Swan song under the illusion that he's "earnt" one last big pay day whilst not having to do much

    he as

he as single handedly kept british boxing intresting and reilivant for years coming from primetime to channel five to be a box office fighter , where as some started on box office then slipped way down channels and ppvs

But why does that earn you the right to fight a one sided fight on ppv? Why should fans again have to pay more? I like Froch, for along time he was my favourite british boxer, I like seeing him fight but no boxer just deserves to be on ppv in a fight he's most probably gonna win for keeping british boxing relevant, as one of the posters above said, he's gave alot to boxing but boxing has gave back to him in the bucket load

There you go, are you arguing that Froch deserves a final ppv against a cherry picked opponent because he's earned it or are you arguing Froch deserves a final ppv against a cherry picked opponent because others have done it?

If your debate is he's earned I disagree and don't think anyone deserves a cherry picked opponent as there "goodbye" fight

If you debate is others have don't it, that doesn't make it right? I'm not saying some deserve it but Froch doesn't, just this thread is about Froch and is why I'm discussing him and not all other fighters

if he is looking for a fight to generate the millions he has become accustomed too it has to be a big name , he wont generate the numbers he wants with a cherry picked easy fight .

Well thankfully his cash cow Chavez fight has gone, which means he'll have to either get off his **** and fight GGG or ward or retire, as a Froch fan I'm happy for him to do either
