He's definitely not hiding from anyone, I never said that. But his situation isn't that of Heavyweights in this era of terrible Heavyweights. He's a Middleweight, solid fighters from lower weights can make it into his division and he can move up to fight solid fighters up in weight too so he's definitely not stuck like Heavyweights are. However, you can't deny, despite the fact that the division is weak at the moment, that his resume is terrible.

 

Macklin was arguably done with going into this fight to be honest. The man has been in so many brutal wars, it's not even normal that he made it far enough to challenge GGG. Most fighters wouldn't even have recovered from a fight like the one he had with Jamie Moore. It's no surprise he was an embarrassingly massive underdog.

 

Exactly true. During that same time frame, when Mayweather fought Hatton he was crucified for fighting a "smaller opponent". Yet Margarito made a living calling out, cheating and struggling or losing to smaller fighters and was hailed a "hero".
