AJ, Frampton, possibly brook / khan winner if they beat a well known WW after, degale could be there if he beats dirrell + groves Tyson fury will jump straight in if he beats vlad and khan will if he beats mayweather.... big if.
Frampton and Campbell have the best chance, it takes a special heavyweight to make the P4P list so AJ is unlikely. Don't think Brook will make it and Khan has a chance of making it but he wont be there long if he does.
Totally agree, lightweight's one of the weakest weight classes around, theres nobody for him to fear out there
I think we're kind of in a golden era for British boxing. I have Degale, Frampton, and Brook top 20 p4p not in the future, but right now. They're all skilled, resourceful boxers who have elevated their game every time they've stepped up in competition. They're probably respectfully the most serious threats to Ward, Rigo, and Mayweather. Has there ever been a time when 3+ British fighters could be considered top 20 p4p?
froch should be on there too unless you consider him retired think lewis, naz and calzaghe around 2000/2001 would have been top 20? not 100% sure on zaggers
I don't think beating Dirrell should put him on the P4P list. He'll need at least one more big name on his record after Dirrell to be considered for top 20.
Before Lewiz and Naz lost to Rahman and Barrera they were consenus top 10 p4p. Both of their losses showed that p4p can't be primarily based on accomplishments though, but has to be more about comparitive ability. Considering Lewis' vulnerabilities and the great fighters at around welter and featherweight at the time, I never rated him top 10 myself. And similar to how Floyd beat Pac, the way Naz lost to Barrera proved anyone right who never had him high p4p. Calzaghe was pretty hard to guage then, maybe some people rated him pretty high, but I sure didn't. I guess we do need to see a bit more of Degale/Frampton/Brook to know if they really are great or just very good. Khan though has shown he doesn't quite cut it p4p. Maybe what makes British boxing seem so strong now is that the top US (and Mexican) talent doesn't remotely compare to what it was in 2000.
