I don't remember seeing a thread on this all day, but I finally checked on the rumor and there are some news sources reporting this, and that they're looking ahead to 2016 for Ward-Kovalev. :bbb
Yeah that's going a bit far... But going to be nice to see Kovalev knock him into retirement. Ward has caused boxing a lot of damage by sitting on belts and not fighting the best competition around. He should have moved up to LHW years ago.
I just hope they make kovalev the underdog so I can make abit of money of him. Ward has little chance against kovalev.
Where are the rest of them claiming Ward wins EASILY? For that matter what could both promoters be duscussing so early other than just how difficult it will be to make a fight with Ward due to his deluded nature.
I believe the talks will be going like this. RocNation "Our client is intrested in fighting your, client Sergy Kovalev. However our client has requested the following demands: 1. The fight must take place at 168. 2. The fight must take place in Oakland. 3. Our client request an 80/20 split in his favour 4. Our client has said no to any demands of additional drug testing. 5. Our client has requested your client not be allowed to wear puncher gloves 6. Our client requested a ring of maximum allotted size. 7. Our client has requested his name go first on the posters and he gets introduced last. 8. Our client has requested a re-hydration clause of no more than 172 lbs for your client. 9. Our client has requested to choose the ref & judges. 10. Our client has stated these terms are not negotiable.
Would be great if they could come to terms but a lot could go wrong and prevent this fight from happening, so I won't hold my breath. Ward is notoriously difficult to deal with but at least both sides seem willing to entertain the idea of a fight.
