How can people expect a fighter to move up in weight and take the likes of Froch as their first opponent?
I'm not sure his power would carry up to 168. I think it would be a fairly even fight if he moved up. Froch has been knocked down but he seems to recover quickly.
Groves bias is so bad its hard to take anything he says seriously, in fact he diminishes himself when he talks about froch. This fight wont happen though. Carl could have had pretty much any big fight in the division over the past year but none could "motivate" him.
Definitely a tough fight for both I agree but I hate the bolded part... Same division... guy wants to unify. Shouldn't ALL champions try to unify if they are able?
Why do you guys make it sound like Ward wanted or wants to fight GGG? He's inactive, he's not even listed in boxrec. He had his opportunity to fight GGG in 2012/2013 but decided to fight Rodriguez. Now he's fighting someone who lost twice to Abraham.
Ward hasn't made the same excuses Golovkin has. That's like Ward fighting someone at 160 not named Golovkin, then make excuses or be hypocritical when Golovkin is mentioned. They don't have to fight each other, but it'd be great for both of them, it's not unrealistic, and time is running out.
Criticizing GGG over and over for wanting to fight the "lineal champ" in his own division is so ****ing annoying. Sorry if Cotto is a naturally smaller guy. Let me know when GGG holds the SMW lineal title and gets a pass for ducking the #1 guy in the division "because he's really only a MW." Ugggh.
Froch said numerous times he is always in the gym.snd the pics he puts in twitter shows he is fit.foch has been called out..
These are big statements to make. GGG isn't a big MW, and we don't know how he would do at SMW, where he would be facing bigger guys weighing anywhere between 170-180 pounds. He also isn't slick, and he seems easy enough to hit to me. I can't see him destroying guys like DeGale and Andre Dirrell at this stage. Those are two very good southpaws who are bigger with very good-great skills.
